To have an idea about the subject. This is what dr. Sergio Canavero said about the topic. Dr. Sergio Canavero is the person who claimed that this is possible.

Ok, the first post wasn't really created as a news item, so there's that, but you don't think that the world's first attempted fucking head transplant isn't worthy news? Certainly a lot, a lot more worthy than a lot of the topics in World News right now..

This is fucking crazy anyway, even the idea of it. Sure, the patient will most likely die, but what if we learn something, anything, new from this..

Here, read this:
"30-year-old Russian man, Valery Spiridonov, will become the subject of the first human head transplant ever performed."

Yea, it would be really... controversial if it worked.

As we cannot breed bodies yet, you would need a full body of a person who recently died from a headtrauma...

Good luck finding such Smile (of course they could give the people some grade-b bodies with broken/missing legs / arms, damaged internals.)

Mostly car accidents and such do more damage than just kill the people with 'headshot'

But imagine the opportunities for black marketeers Smile

That reminds me of a short story by a Polish sci-fi author Stanislaw Lem... I don't remember the exact details, but:

It was a couple hundred years into the future where medicine was advanced to a point where you could transplant heads. There were two male twins. They both had wives and children. Unfortunately, they were driving in the same car during the accident. Fortunately, by using combinations of different organs from the two bodies, and by transplanting the head, they managed to save one man. Shortly after the accident the insurance company phoned to ensure a few details...

Is the person saved by the accident twin A, twin B, or a whole other person C, and who should get the insurance money. Very Happy

@mtj Acording to Dr. Canavero it will offer an imense possibiliy in the future if cloning is going to be developed more.

Concerning the presnet it is believed that we could save those who are not being able to walk or use theier limbs or we could offer new lives to those who lost limbs in wars, by placing theier heads on the body of someone who is brain dead ( literally)
