Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I tried Googling and could not find a satisfactory answer.
I wanted to know how exactly Touch ID works in conjunction with Third-Party Apps.
Take for example the Amazon app. I am able to order something without entering my password. When I would usually need to do that it just asks for my fingerprint. Now, how can this exactly work?
I guess the app will need to store my password somewhere? I guess (but I can't remember) that I have entered my password once before activating Touch ID, but I am not sure. But how could it work otherwise?
Same with Apps that use file containers, such as password or banking apps. Surely that container should be encrypted with my password (that I definitely HAVE chosen). And as I am able to decrypt those containers on the PC as well, the encryption cannot be based on the fingerprint, but has to rely on the password.
Then where is that password stored and how? It has to be on the iDevice, but how is made sure that it is not accessible? (I am just guessing that the passwords are not stored in plain text, as that would be the stupidest thing ever)

It's stored in the iPhone keychain which itself is dependent from a per device key in the bootrom, which remains unhacked since iPhone 4.
Basically, you are more than safe. Even if jailbroken. User land JB can't decrypt the Keychain (it's a file on your filesystem, I don't remember the folder, probably /var/root/Keychains or smthg.

TouchID information is kept in a hardware of its own which cannot be tampered with (no known vulnerabilities exist). It has its own OS, which exposes write-only API for strings and boolean API for verification. TouchID has nothing to do with the keychain.
App information is stored in the keychain, which is unlocked on first boot, when you enter your real passcode. Later, TouchID just opens the GUI. When you are unable to authenticate five times, it removes the keys from the memory and requires real passcode again.

Keychain security is tightly bound with passcode strength. With 4-digit passcode, it is very easy to derive the passcode. With the advent of TouchID, everyone should just put a complex (non digit) passcode, since you only have to input it once per device boot.

Anyone else having wifi problems? I just keep getting wrong password, and i've tried all kinds of crap i've found on the net, but the only thing that works is restarting my router, and it only works for a little while before the problem is back.

Funnily enough, there seems to be a lot of reports that 8.3 actually improves iPad2 performance to the levels iOS6 used to be. Is this true? iOS7 has been an annoying pain in the arse on my Pad2, crashing apps constantly and general piss-poor performance and overall system "snappiness"
~edit~
Never mind, doing more reading shows exactly the opposite; whole lotta people raging about how much worse 8.3 is over 7.x.. bah.

I think it's absolutely insane that apple won't allow people to go back if a ios version just doesn't agree with a certain device.
But apple is rotten to the core so...

So I'm having some issues installing apps via iTunes.
I installed AppSync Unified from http://cydia.angelxwind.net/
I'm putting my IPA into the apps folder on iTunes, then dragging onto the device. Then when I hit sync I get the following error on my iPhone 6 / iPad 2:
"1 item could not be synced, see iTunes for more information"
However, iTunes doesn't report an error!

Did you get it working?
I have no IPhone, but that freeze at 20% is related to ITunes - It doesn`t work with the 64 Bit Version iirc. If the 32 bit version does not work for you, you should try an older version of the software - iTunes 12.1.0.71. This one should work

It worked great with my version of iTunes 12.0.1.26. No issues or hiccups.
On an Iphone 6 plus if that helps.

Has anybody tried the Jailbreak for 8.4? I would like to apply it to my Ipad4. I heard it should work well, but has anybody here actually used it?
