@sabin1981: Me it reminds of Escape Velocity - the cult Macintosh game during Mac OS Classic era. Escape Velocity Nova - the third game in a series was also released on Windows.

Yeah man, the game is brilliant and I can see this sucking up a lot of free time Thank you! It's not even expensive either, only a tenner, I've got £5 in credit so far, I'll try and snag some more and buy it ... though I also want to get StarCrawlers too, the "yarr" release is so much fun.
