but the game dosent have any improvements or anything new over any game released this past years. it looks old, like 2004 old, and for a 2015 release it just looks plain silly, with no online servers and no configurable options.
smartphone games are more tehnical than this

Fine, then; it's the best 3D fighting game on the PC right now, and I'm no friend of Putin. Just go away Stefan, and take your silliness back to the MK thread. You have no like for anything but MK, so what's the point crapping in other threads?

I am not saying it's the best game ever. There is just no alternative.

What's wrong with keyboard for fighting games? Not like you need the analog precision. In fact, for pulling some moves, the keyboard is easier because of very short travel distance compared to sticks.

Oh god no, I don't use analogue stick either. D-pad all the way. You can't play fighting games analogue, it has to be digital, even the 3D games like Tekken and DoA .. digital, always digital. If you don't have a stick, d-pad is the next best thing \o/

What is wrong with keyboard? It is even more precise.

I disagree that a keyboard is "more precise" than a fight stick or a d-pad, absolutely disagree. There's nothing "wrong" with it if that's how you roll, but it's not ideal and not optimal. Many fighting games, if not all of them, have sweeping motions for movement and moves - pulling off a half-circle on a keyboard requires five finger presses, as opposed to a d-pad requiring one smooth motion with your thumb, or a fight-stick requiring a smooth motion with your fingers/palm/however-you-hold-your-stick. Not to mention not many keys handle multiple inputs very well.

Ideal, optimal. But nothing rational, just preference. I can understand why a wheel is better than a pad in a driving sim, which in turn is better than keyboard. I can understand why a mouse is better than a pad in an fps. In a fighter, I don't see it. In both pad and stick, to do back-forward, you need travel time from one side to another, on keyboard just tap tap. Same for all buttons, you can have a finger on each button; you can do the same on a stick with buttons on the side, but on pad, when playing with one thumb, you are limited to the response time of a thumb, which is not optimal (in an objective way, a wrist is faster and more precise than a finger).

I really don't want to get into subjective debates, but after over twenty years of fighting games - I absolutely do not agree keyboard is more precise, more ideal or even as comfortable, as a d-pad. D-pads fit in the thumb just perfectly (well, mine at least ) so rocking or tapping directions requires little to no effort at all, as opposed to having to use 3 fingers to have the same range of motion, and performing finger contortions in order to hit that range.
As for "Japcrap", that's only because you're a Mortal Kombat fanatic, which uses simplistic absolute directions without diagonal motions. Every other fighting game employs diagonals

Doing fine with KB (lent my derpad to a friend) on medium/hard in this game
, same goes for other fighters with minimum circle motions (MK, Injustice,....) - i guess it helps that i dont enjoy Street Fighter at all

Haha, funny you should say that Pretty much 99% of the major, and minor, fighting series are "japcraps" |
Crap!
They all look alike as well. Big tits, small skirts, small heads with large swords, "fire from my fist fire from my foot", retarded hair styles - basically the entire ugly japcrap culture.

Just because you don't press back + down to guard does not mean it's true. Even look at the move sheet of MK9, you will see diagonals (up + forward, down + forward, etc). No circulars, sure, but diagonals is not true.

*doh* I was talking about moves, mate, not blocking or jumping. Of course you use diagonal for jumping, I'm referring to moves. There are no "down, down-forward, forward" (etc) motions in MK. MK skips out the diagonal input in favour of "down, forward" that's it --- and yes, look at the movement sheet for MK9. There are no special moves that require a diagonal input. Jumping forward/back? Yes. That's it. You even have a dedicated block button so there's no down+back (effecting a diagonal input) for blocking downwards.
ANYWAY! I'm not saying people can't use keyboard or that it's impossible, I just contest the statement that it's "more precise" or somehow better. Subjective, not objective.

In the case, you mention, how does it different, other than making it play like shit on keyboard? I think I am starting to see the problem now, indeed the japcrap SF4 played terribly on keyboard while non-japcraps played well. But purely from gameplay, how does it matter? Is there just a "down, down-forward" move? Or is it the entire 90 degree arc always?

It doesn't matter, it's just the difference between MK and every other fighting game. That's all. So for YOU the keyboard may feel better playing MK (though, again, needing 3 fingers for one action as opposed to using a single thumb is very counter-productive) but for any other game? It's not going to feel as comfortable or responsive. All the other fighters use sweep, circular, motions and those - to me! - feel uncomfortable and unpleasant, and highly inefficient, on a keyboard.
