Still, its not the names that piss me off...its the fact that Canadian teams are going all the way over to russia to draft these kids who will work for a fraction of any other player.
Canada produces the BEST hockey players in the world/ever, Canadian teams should stick to drafting canadian kids... |

And how and why does hockey suck? takes more skill and toughness to play than football...(euro football)ur not simply running down a field kickin a ball around, there's the skating, puck handling, checking, shooting...alot hard to do all those on ice...as oppose to a buncha pretty boys running down a field, faking being tripped and such.... |

no shit, eh? Like 19/23 players on that team are from canada  + 1 each of US, russian, czech, swede!

really you don't like ruskies? how come?? they have/had a top notch hockey program focusing on speed and skill with strong emphasis on a defence, they've produced some quality players over the years and for years were the only nation to give us a run for our money on ice.
I don't mind russians at all as they've consistenly produced quality players through their program. |

Exactly that reason. They focus too much on euro style hockey - skating and puck skills...yeah, thats a big (if not huge) part of the game, but the physical side of hockey is just as big imo. They play 4 or 5 years in the euro leagues, then come here and whine and bitch when they get flattened by a 6'5, 280lbser (not lobster  pounder)
I never liked any of the guys the russian's have produced and, not to mention, most of em have mafia ties ala Yashin and Federov - really good skaters and such, but 2 of the biggest pussies in the history of the NHL, and from what i recall, Federov was a big guy, like 6'3 or so...he should have focused more on the physical game, as well as the technical. |
