Did you buy it through nuuvem?

I haven't bought yet as I'm afraid it might be region locked, although they usually specify if a game is locked or not.

@Leishar

If you get me 3 people willing to pay $60 upfront via paypal verified ($20 each) I can get it for $20 ( hero edition triple pack x5 available) . Otherwise it's $25 ( hero edition x4 available ) Razz

PS That's extra digital copies backers can get via obsidian site, not region locked and shit.

1) Lenovo Legion 7 (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3080 16Gb, 32Gb DDR4, SSD 1TB +2TB

Earlier today a dev answered comments from people on their forums about RU keys. It looks like they're gonna ask Paradox to lock them down.
http://poedevtracker.net/

<To devs: Maybe change russian steam keys and add lock for activate and play only from Russia territory ? Lots of key resellers and keys shop offering PoE steam keys for 14-15 $ ? From GMG cheaters can buy PoE (russian ip) for 12,5$ ?(ROW version?)>
Dev: "Thank you Asmo, we'll pass this along!"

Followed by another
<Looking at the usual CD-key trade sites, they're hammering fast on the price. I can see two sites offering "gifting and regional UK/RU" keys for $11 already. As a backer, I'd like Obsidian to get their moneys worth from those that didn't back.>
Dev: "Thanks Mashiki! I've passed this along to the folks at Paradox. Hopefully that's something they can lock down quickly!"

Good on them for locking it down Laughing . I'm sorry but this company deserves the money - I can understand doing it for overpriced Ubicrap going for €60 for a slightly updated version of last year's game but we're talking about the spiritual successor of Baldur's fucking Gate here - you should be ashamed for nickle & diming this dev! I'm sorry but locking games so that they can't be played outside of a country XY is totally fucked up. What if I am on vacation in another country? What if I moved to another country for good? What if I am on a business trip? Huh?

Steam forums are full of complaints in regard to this issue. And no, not only from people who got cheap RU copies. It's a ridiculous and anti-consumer shit

Pure opportunism.

Anyone putting out a product worth playing "deserves" money - but you don't have to be an ass about it.

You should see the problems that I have with steam and paypal because I moved from Portugal to Ireland... And key sites. They ask me to send pictures of my ID and my face because location never matches the country from the account.

PayPal doesn't allow you to change the country that you first signed up with...

I strongly disagree with the concept of having different prices for digitally distributed games in different regions. How would you feel if steam scanned your monthly income and charged you according to how high it is? Well, region locks and region price scaling for digital games is the same thing.

I'll never bicker about people being protective of their wallets. But the thing is, that concerns both consumers and developers/producers - as long as their product is worth the cost. Intrusive, anti-consumer DRM is one thing, but region-locking is something I can live with. It's certainly better than the alternative - a unified price in dollars everywhere. As far as I'm concerned, it's their right to do stuff like this to protect their product, just as it's mine to be cheap when I buy a key for a fraction of the price - when I can do it.

Also, putting things in perspective, let's not forget Obsidian nearly faced extinction just prior to this KS. I can certainly understand them wanting to count every penny now.

Having said that, for major players on the digital market, not implementing means to easier change your profile data for stuff like this is just laziness. I'm certain something could be done to make the process better.

No, you should understand them doing everything in their power to make people love them. This way their next game would be a even greater success.

It's simple. If you want to sell your games in countries with a bad economy and low income, you should deal with lower prices. Don't necessarily assume that people who buy it at a lower price can afford to pay the highest price out there.

Just to be clear: I will never, ever dislike a company for using DRM. In their position, I would also do everything I can to maximize my profits. But if it were in my power, I would put legislature in place to prevent "price advantages" based on discrimination.

Let me elaborate: let's say I'm selling three identical boxes. Now a guy comes and asks "how much?" and I say $10. He leaves. A second guy comes and asks "how much?" and I say $20. That's discrimination and is illegal in many instances. For instance, if the price increase was because of gender or color of skin, then this is basically illegal all over the western world. Then why should it be legal to discriminate based on place of residence?

That would only be fair if the one price available was normalised across economies, which it isn't.

They're already available, you need to log into the backer portal and get yours.

No they haven't. They've priced it for the US market standard, and then they've made a zillion sales to compensate for the ridiculously high prices - for people who can't afford the US standard. Which means you either suck it up - or you wait.

The publishers are probably not without control there, but that's how it is.

The first time I hit a dead end in a role-playing game came while playing the original Fallout. I forget where exactly, but it was after dozens of hours of play that my party ended up in the bowels of a dilapidated building somewhere in the wasteland trying to bust through a locked door.

It was at that moment, in that dirty digital basement, that I realized no one in my party had the right mix of stats or skills to move on. There was literally nothing I could do to get the damned door open, and my story just stopped. My only option was to grind that party for four or five whole levels, dumping all of my earned experience fighting radscorpions and bandits into lock picking.

But that character, that party that I left behind? There was nothing wrong with them

He's straight up making stuff up about the original Fallout Laughing

All just to praise Pillars of Eternity's lack of "trap builds". Fucking disgusting.

You'd think gamejournos would at least try a game like Fallout for more than 2 seconds. It's really fucking sad that people still value what these people write.
