Not sure if those fit but Madventures: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0369131
and Departures: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1320363/ are really nice.

The german 4-part doku "Strasse der Achttausender" that aired on ARTE a few weeks ago was also good, should be able to find it on youtube or the scene releases for it.
