No, its another shitty DayZ game where you run around the woods killing people and occasionally a few cats and dogs. And the pure PvP mode is another shitty CoD clone
Edit: fuck it, got a bunch of errors trying to install direct x, couldn't play because "missing executables"" or something error, then verified integrity and Steam started downloading same files again. Yep. Skippity skip
The most exciting part of Survarium [official site] has always been the dream that it might one day become essentially an unofficial S.T.A.L.K.E.R. sequel. Survarium studio Vostok Games was founded by folks who formerly worked on the celebrated open-world FPS-RPG series, Survarium is set in a very similar irradiated world of artifact hunters, and Vostok have gabbed about wanting a peristent world to stalk. Survarium is still primarily a small-scale competitive PvP multiplayer shooter but it has recently taken its first teensy tiny step into PvE with the addition of a tutorial story mission.
Damn, I was hoping this would be the "game is finally dead" announcement
No matter the efforts and attempts to add PvE, the arcade nature of the gunplay along with the lack of depth and vital gameplay elements will never give anything resembling Stalker. Unofficial sequel my cheeki breeki bottom
A new patch for Survarium is now available, updating the survival game to version 0.50. This debuts cooperative PvE play, and they offer this trailer showing off PvE mission #1 to give an idea what this involves. They offer the lengthy patch notes, and the following overview of the new PvE content:
Story-driven Team Mission
Story mission tells about a conflict between Black Market and The Renaissance Army, and also unveils the mystery about secret experiments which lead to creation of the Forest. Specifically for this mission we created a new map with lots of both open and indoors locations. We tried to add an element of exploration into the game, and also let you interact with the world of Survarium.
The mission is designed for a squad of three players, and to successfully finish it you need to complete a set of tasks. At least one of the players must reach each of the checkpoints: then defeated squad members (if there are any) are resurrected and may continue. If all squad members are dead, the mission is failed.
While going through the mission you will learn the storyline, but you can also find stashes containing various trophies which you will receive when the mission is successfully finished.
