Does AP mess up all the mods and mod scripts that were made for TC?

I would wager yes. I will install this separately and keep my modded install intact.

It's a separate exe and uses it's own /addons folder so you can play both X3TC and X3AP without one interfering with the other. Smile

Ported over some scripts to AP (Move the files to the /addons folder and the relevant directories there, it does not read much other than some core files from the X3TC base folder so that's why this is required.) and that worked just fine.

Larger mods would need to be updated to work with AP of course.
(Engine changes and all that.)

Anyone know the name of this ship?

http://www.egosoft.com/games/x3ap/screenshots/x3ap_screen_012.jpg

Gonna get back into playing this weekend. Anyone have a site that shows the new ships for AP? I've looked around at the x3database site and while it does have quite a bit of info, it doesn't seem to separate the new from the TC ships. I'm not sure what's what right now. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

This doesn't look updated in a while but it's what I use to browse ships outside of the game:

I haven't installed the new game to be able to tell you if it works or not.

Is there any way to compare my version with the official scene release? Like a md5 check?

I just went to install my older dl: X3.Albion.Prelude-SKIDROW. But I'm getting a virus warning in the setup.exe. So I ran the md5 through VirusTotal and got 25/43 hits. I'm used to seeing compression false positives and a low percentage of scanners hitting off. But this looks very suspect. On top of that I verified the iso with torrents on the "site that shall not be named", but none of the uploaders are "trusted".

So, my question, what is the official releases md5? Is there somewhere I can find this info in the future?

Well it was SUPPOSED to be this year, though there's not been any info since it was announced. All the sites just say "2012" -- but considering this is meant to be an entirely new game, with new everything, I just don't see how it's possible in a year (it was announced in June 2011) unless they had been working on it for quite a while prior.

finally got around to play Albion Prelude (bought the whole series for 10 bucks couple months back, never got around to play it). Using the Overhaul mod (basicly 1 big all in one mod) and damn i am having a BLAST. Cruising around in my M3 chasing Pirates, Terrans (yeah, fuck them Terrans) etc.

Oh and they released a "non steam exe" which is basicly a crack for the game, since it removes the need to have steam running. You can only download it, if you have a serial, but its not like anyone could then up it elsewhere lol Smile But it pretty much the game going protection free.

ANyway, for those who havent tried it, give it a shot Smile

oh and here the mod i am using, pretty much the most complete thing out there, that focus on making the game more balanced and not breaking it.

X3 Rebalance Mod (XRM) - Total conversion

ps: i meant never played AP, i played Reunion extensivly hehe. TC to a lesser extend.

after our work on the 3.50 update for X Rebirth will soon be finished, we are currently considering to also start working on another update for the X3 games (X3TC and/or X3AP in particular).

I think they are also trying to please some of the old fans they pissed on from a great height with the release of Rebirth. Problem is the damage is already done.

In saying that i'll take an update for this classic over more consolised horseshit anyday.
