Sure they have right to use your PC's resources on whatever bullshit they want to run on it. Such an incredible business model indeed. Rolling Eyes µTorrent's popularity must explode after this news.

What are you, a communist? As any respectable software company, they have written in tiny print in the EULA, which you agreed to Rolling Eyes that they can do whatever they want. I bet you didn't even read the EULA and just went for the quick "I Agree" button. So typical of internet turds. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

What a fuck are you talking about? The problem is not that they want money for the service they are providing but the way they are implementing it. EULA is useless if you unselect bloatware during the installation while uTorrent installs it silently: http://torrentfreak.com/utorrent-quietly-installs-riskware-bitcoin-miner-users-report-150306/

And no I'm not using uTorrent or any other torrent client on my PC.

i use it for some tracker (which banned 2.2.1), i have it updated, but i dont have that miner. are you sure people dint accept that crap during update instalation ? i remember i opt out / declined something.
alternatives to utorrent are still shit, so i will not drop it very soon. i still could not find one better vs 2.2.1

There's 3.4.2 release and a (endless?) 3.4.2 beta release, this was probably the beta branch.

Release version:
http://forum.utorrent.com/topic/88607-34x-stable/

Beta version:
http://forum.utorrent.com/topic/88339-34x-beta/
(This can be used to grab a specific beta build but the main download page usually has even newer builds. - http://utclient.utorrent.com/offers/beta_release_notes/release_notes.html )

Hell if you download the beta on their website say four times or so and then check in the properties screen for the version number they still haven't fixed the "roulette" bug which gives you different builds every time. Razz
(Can be a problem getting the absolutely latest build that way.)

EDIT: Their stance on it.

This 1000000000000000000x, so many people i encounter are too fucking retarded to check for this..
99.9% of spyware gets installed because the person behind it is too fucking retarded to click deny when those offers come up... Facepalm

Oh and funny how all those little sites you linked don't show the EXACT moment when it wants to be installed:

Not to be a total retard, or sound condescending..but why would people upgrade utorrent after installing it? Its not like video drivers or such where it improves performance/fixes crashes or adds some new must have feature.
I've been on the same version I got 3 years ago. I mean if it opens a torrent and downloads it, why would I need to keep up to date on the latest version? The old old version I have without ads, or trying to popup anything or install stuff does what a torrent client is suppose to do..why turn updates on? Razz

And I think they know exactly the best way to make money off it. it IS a product after all. They know 90% of the people using it are the same ones you see spamming torrent comments with "All I see is a bin/cue file, how do I run it?" or "Fake! All i got was one rar file and a lot of numbered files..uploader sux".
They know most of them will install the miner without paying attention.

I mean it is a software people use to keep from having to pay for things...making a pay version of it means they would just pirate it too (or not care, how many of you bought utorrent pro? Laughing)

Maybe if you are stupid enough to click through installers without care, it's a tiny bit your fault.

Why I use ninite.com even if I go "oh I need this one program" and they have it. dont have to worry about fishing around the installer to make sure I didnt forget a no checkbox.

idk what the latest build is, but this one should be pretty up-to-date and works just fine if you tweak it properly Wink

Why are the users saying they didn't accept the EpicScale installation during the update and the official statement says that it gets installed only if the user accepts it?

Also, why does this piece of shit software purposefully have a non-functioning uninstaller which is designed to give the false impession that it's uninstalled, but the processes remain active? Also it has dual-process anti-killing hardening like it's some fucking trojan? Laughing Laughing Laughing

Famous last words: "brb I'm quickly doing a default installation of utorrent on my Lenovo"
