I cannot, for the life of me, see white and gold, only black and blue. Though my gf sees white and gold. FFFFFFUUUUU

anyone who does not see an off white on the dress or even that white background on the pic above, please stay away from texture work. Its mind boggling how many peeps dont use screens with proper whites and blacks and stick with yellowish off colour crap panels.

Black/blue are the colors of truth, white/gold is deception. Do not believe their shiny lies of milk and honey!

nope, still see exactly the same, exactly the colours that are supposed to be seen
http://i.imgur.com/bm9Zc7W.jpg
sun has not come up yet though..
usually I'm good with such type of illusions and can see both versions if I want to, but not on this dress!!
are you sure the display is not a factor?
I have an 8-bit panel without FRC (dithering/flicker to simulate more colours), PWM free and its calibrated to gamma 2.3, deltaE avg. <1.2, scr ~3600:1

I hope some global war would erupt from this trolling. White-goldies vs blue-blacks - the war to end all wars. Obama and Putin ashamed.

No one said it wasn't, its been shown to be that color. I can agree its blue and black by the fact of the people that took the pic confirmed it, but it doesn't make me see blue/black at all. I cant even force myself to see a hint of blue, much less gold equaling black in the original, to me what you posted at the original are 2 different dresses to my mind . Looking at both I cant force the first to look like that.
we are are saying in the frame of reference of the original image, it doesn't appear that way to us.
No amount of you angrily point out the pics exposure is wrong, will make my brain fix it

The thing is it has a bluish tint, but it looks like white with a bit of bluish tint. I found picture on tumblr where it's clearly blue, but by now you really don't know which one is real and which one has been tampered with.

But for me it's not a bluish tint, it's as blue as blue can be. I mean it's light blue (and we saw from the original dress that it's in fact a much deeper blue in reality), but it's still very much blue. My brain fails to come up with any circumstances under which white would look like this (unless you set up some spotlight with a really blue filter, but in the picture the "white" background works against that), so it just doesn't work for me any other way.
It's probably not even the color itself but the consistency of it - it's a very solid gradient of blue that fills every spot on the dress, but not the background.
