holy shit does this game has a HUGE memory leak Mad

every 2-3 hours I need to restart it, cause it eats up 10GB of RAM..

didn't happen to me. Beat the game a few days ago, not a single crash or issue in the 24 hours it took to finish.

yes I have
I also downgraded the textures option from ultra (6gb) to high (3gb) and now it's slower, but still there, around 1GB per hour, cool that I have 16gb of RAM

GE used to have a massive memory leak problem. And I'm not sure they have fixed it.
It happened mostly when playing games.

https://esports.geforce.com/forums/topic/672846/geforce-experience/nvstreamsvc-exe-memory-leak/

Although the OP said that disabling nvstream fixed it, it didn't in my case. I had it disabled and I still had memory leaks.

I used GE's shadowplay but after that I totally uninstalled this pos.

I didn't realize it was GE at first. All I saw was afterburner showing that I used all my memory right before crashing, but then I discovered it wasn't this or that game's fault.

I suppose you could try to uninstall GE and see if you continue to experience memory leaks after that.

yea this asscreed approach seems to be the new trend lately, shower the player with millions of subquests, collectibles and gimmicks to keep him busy and maybe he wont notice that the core gameplay is very shallow.

Well,at least Ken Levine liked the Nemesis system, so we might see it implemented in actually a good game someday Laughing

I thought this game was pure, mindless fun. I'd never even consider it a great game,

and it does have all the standard pitfalls of console centric development and audience widening compromises,

but in the end, I had a blast playing it the 24 hours it took to complete.

I did facepalm repeatedly after the QTE boss fight, and the general lack of challenge,

and hud hand holding to the max were annoying, but in the end it was just fun. Difficult to describe, a shit, but fun game

Kinda like Stevel Segal/Dolph Lundgren movies I guess Laughing

This sums it up Razz Laughing
No matter how the journos put it, it's a game that doesn't try to innovate, on the contrary, it recycles and rehashes all the problems coming from the AAA one-button-to-rule-em-all generation (simplified stealth elements and core gameplay like Inter and Zeel also mentioned, the Ubi-like philosophy and approach overall which also tainted the Tomb Raider Reboo and many others).

Even the Nemesis system itself could have been implemented more deeply and with more consistency, since after a few hours you can see all the easy patterns behind it, and the repetitive factors that surround the idea in its current primitive state. There's potential though, that's for sure. Still, I ended up liking it for what it is, with the mindless I ar teh badass1 moments and nice sense of freedom, making me prefer it over AC.

Just imagine if a game like this was developed for a mature audience instead, with rewarding gameplay mechanics and all.

http://www.gamespot.com/articles/shadow-of-mordor-dev-made-some-pretty-big-and-pain/1100-6424827/
Quote:
As part of a wide-ranging post-mortem about the acclaimed title on Gamasutra http://gamasutra.com/view/news/234421/Postmortem_Monolith_Productions_Middleearth_Shadow_of_Mordor.php, Michael de Plater recalled Monolith's overly ambitious original vision for the game.

"During pre-production, we didn't have good metrics on our production capacity," he said. "This led to the specification of the game being over-ambitious, which, as we started to get a clearer picture of reality, required us to make some pretty big and painful cuts."

"This created a double dip of pain," he added. "Firstly, there was the lost work on the features that were cut. Secondly, we created quite significant amounts of new work to replace the cut features or content including some large wilderness areas and epic creatures such as the Great Beast."

De Plater pointed out that even when game features are cut, other elements must be redesigned or created to take their place. In the case of Shadow of Mordor, this created more work for Monolith than the studio originally modeled.

Could these mysterious features that faced the chopping block find their way into a potential Shadow of Mordor sequel? It's too early to say right now, but de Plater said previously that Monolith has "only scratched the surface" in terms of how it could move the series forward with another game.

Also in the post-mortem, de Plater talks about Shadow of Mordor's Nemesis System, which many consider to be the game's true innovation. He said this system originated as a "fairly simple idea" of amassing a network of personal villains, but over time, it experienced "feature creep" that made it much more complex. As a result, the Nemesis System actually moved away from the concept's core premise, de Plater said.

"For example, at one point we had multiple Uruk Factions with separate bars for Morale and Discipline," he said. "Each Captain influenced these Bars and their state determined the behavior of the Orcs in combat as well as emergent missions. At this point, their Hierarchy UI looked somewhat like a Christmas tree."

After some playtesting and refinements, Monolith sculpted the Nemesis System back to a version that was closer to the original intent, albeit with some key improvements.

"This was an improvement and evolution over the original vision which was closer to Sam and Frodo's experience in Cirith Ungol, where interrogation did not have any magical properties and you were turning your enemies against each other," de Plater said. "The final game is closer to the idea of the power of the One Ring where you are directly controlling your Enemies."

Yes really bad call to put DLC files into main depot when DLC's are even separate files....
The DLC depot is only activation file for legit game.
Well this has good side if you wanna pirate the DLC's you already have the files ready for you Smile

The game is a wasted potential.. Sadly it's just an "empty" world collectibles fest.

Indeed lol wut

Nemesis novelty wears off within several hours and what left is a rather primitive system that should only be used to support a great story, rich world and awesome gameplay Laughing alas it's not the case but they keep praising the game for this like it's the second coming of Christ or something
