 |
So im trying to stream a football match from a website like firstrow from my pc to my hdtv via hdmi cable, i just have one monitor, so im wondering, is there a way i can have this streaming to the tv without stop using my desktop? ( Its currently maximized so its fullscreen on the tv)
I know multiple virtual desktops should work, but i cant figure how to do it or what programs to do it.. help would be apreciated, some kind of application that would allow me to stream just that particular website in fullscreen mode to the tv, without interropting my desktop work.
Regards.

not sure what does not work for you ?
i have my monitor primary, my tv secondary (extend display not clone).
you can move whatever you want on tv, and do whatever you want on monitor.
or have only one hdmi cable ? not vga/dvi to monitor ?

I have the tv on the living room, so extending the primary (LCD monitor) to the tv is out of the question, because i cant see what im extending from my room.
I need a way to keep a website maximized streaming to the tv, but continue working on my desktop..
Like streaming from a second virtual desktop..if thats possible, and keep using a primary real desktop..
its 1 LCD DVI primary monitor, outputing the hdmi cable from my gtx760 to the HDTV on the living room..

i'm still in fog.
http://i.imgur.com/v1ARY9O.jpg -> my setup. for now is a second monitor, not tv.
on the main is maximized nvidia panel, and i can do whatever i want on it, play games, editing, programing, and in the second monitor /tv is a movie, full screen from browser. and again, on that screen i can do whatever i want no matter what i do on primary.

extend the monitor like frogster said and install yourself unified on your android phone and pc.
you can use your phone as a pc-remote control then. so you will be able to maximize the browser window/stream or whatever. no need to be on your pc.
(things like turning pc off or on (wake on lan) works too...)

easiest way yes, use a pc remote app or a wireless mouse. you can send windows to the second screen with win+arrow keys. left/right direction, up/down to max and minimize the window. there are streams (i.e. some silverlight based streams like skygo which havent set a special flag) which lose the focus when clicking on the first desktop.and some do that when they are muted

Thanks guys i managed to somehow throw it in there and maximize it, i was just wondering if i could do it with a virtual desktop, but since hdmi cable does a mirror of the desktop you are viewing it seems that option is out of the table.
