What are you powering that needs 850W?

I mean my OC'd 4790k and two OC'd 970s, H100i, 5 HDDs etc etc run fine on full load on a 750W PSU..

Watercooled 5950X | AORUS Master X570 | Asus RTX 3090 TUF Gaming OC | 64Gb RAM | 1Tb 970 Evo Plus + 2Tb 660p | etc etc

i guess my concern was id rather have a bit more than i need than not enough...

the reason i was leaning towards seasonic was because id heard great things about them in terms of reliability, and it was the cheaper of the psu's i was looking at

so you're suggesting dropping down to 750? 750 is only 10 bucks less than the 850...

im running an i5 2500k, looking to get a gtx 970, im running 4 hdds, and id like to look into oc'ing and possibly sli a little down the road.

please, feel free to take a quick look around the site and suggest the best thing for me to get.

if it's only 10$ difference do go with 850, although even with 970 sli you won't need more than 600
2x970 oc or not=320w
rest of the system around 150w
mind you with 970 sli you will need more than i5 to get full potential

go for the best power for $.
i would get seasonic, they are overall better than corsair.

but be aware, that corsair is not "corsair".

is cwt, which is as good as seasonic from my pov. but still, i would get seasonic.

if i'm not mistaking, ofcourse.
