yep played the first one for a while - but after I found out that they are planning it as trilogy and ending of first one is very open thx to it I decided to wait for whle trilogy to be out (similar to how i wait for Van Helsing 3 before playing first one properly)

The game is definitly worth playing. It's not that complicated though. It might be even playable on a tablet.

I really liked the first one as well. I think because of the graphics and animation style, which reminded me of '80s cartoons (or the old Asterix movies). It all felt very nostalgic.
Turn based combat got a bit stale after a while, though, so hopefully they'll add more options here.

There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.

It plays pretty well on my cheapo android thing.

I bought it from the store, its a little slow loading, but it plays fine.

Indeed! Lack of variety and enemy types is perhaps my only complaint about the game, because the presentation, neat style overall and the various different consequences to your actions were on point in my opinion. One of the surprises of the year for me, had almost lost any hope for a sequel at this point. Razz

The only thing i hated was that stupid alternating turn mechanic where if i have 6 units and they have 1 they still get 6 moves.

And since one full health unit is far more powerful than multiple weaker units it really killed the game.

Well, started playing this yesterday. I should have played it earlier, it's pretty cool!
And the simple combat is fun too (till now at least). But i am playing on Easy. As i read that on Medium it can be too hard already.
The art is beautiful too.

Finished it after about 10 hours.
The best part were probably that beautiful and sharp art und the decisions you have to make.

YES! Very Happy
If it will have the same kind of decisions during the game, it will be even better because of the post apocalyptic scenario.

Winter became Spring but it seems that the release is really going to be "around the corner".
I will get this one for sure. Here decisions matters and changes and the outcome.

It seems that combat will receive an overhaul as well Razz

Updated Combat

Along with the variety of adding new races, classes, talents, and monsters, combat has been given some attention as well. Several new systems will be experienced while in battle. We added story telling in battles where characters are giving more context to the situation or continuing where you left off in dialogue. The choices you make in dialogue also affect who is supporting you in battle or who is not. Destructible environments add some interesting elements by slowing down either side. Finally different battle win conditions change what you have to accomplish while you are fighting.

I still liked the original, but more variety overall sounds good.

Really enjoyed TBS1. I hope TBS2 will just improve on all the features, and don't do anything stupid with the gameplay. Very Happy

They also released a update yesterday for the first game, unsure what they changed though.
( http://steamcommunity.com/app/237990/discussions/0/371918937282469810/ - Apparently updates the game engine - Adobe Air - to a newer version to alleviate stuttering though there might be more to it than that such as compatibility with TBS2 for savegame data and such.)

To answer my own question (or at least half of it), I just got an email today with a Steam key for TBS 2.

Let's hope it is longer than the paltry 10 hours it took Bob to finish the first one, otherwise no sale on my part at least.

Steam says I got 14 hours out of the first one (although at least 30 mins of that was probably sitting through the ball-achingly long end credits), but yeah, I wouldn't be expecting a significant increase for the sequel/s.
