XIII-2 is 100x better than XIII, LR is amazing compared to both.

LR is the one you guys want, that is a proper game.

That stupid time limit totally ruined lightning returns for me. I absolutely hate when a game is telling me how much time i have to beat it. Especially with a game that has a lot of exploration and side quests. Besides that the game was really good.

At least with the pc version there might be a hack to freeze time or something like that.

i played all .. expect XIII -3

and the story is too fucked up to explain , when part 2 was like time travel with Moogles from FF9

it was like XIII never existed ... Laughing

The only thing i know about the XIII - 3 , this it has a time limit ... forcing you to dash though this game like crazy Laughing

XIII-2 has a recap of XIII in the menu. That should be enough.

There is no point to play any FF13 game. If you want to "catch up" or just know the drill - find a decent let's player who will manage to keep you interested in that boring action on the scree, get some pizza and watch it.

Isn't XIII-3 like based on multiple playthroughs with NG+? Like you have to finish it a couple of times so you get a full story?

Well thanks for the heads up, until such a hack comes along I'm not going to bother with it.

As someone that has played XIII-3, and raged like a fucknut about the time limit BEFORE I played, let me tell you that it's not a problem at all. You get more than enough time to finish every mission in the game and explore it top to bottom. The *only* issue with the clock system in XIII-3 is that certain side quests are only available at certain times of day, which means sometimes you have a made dash from one end of the world to the other if you want to catch a certain person in a certain place, else you'll have to try again the next day. THAT's a pain. But the time limit itself? It's no trouble as long as you keep doing side missions as they extend it Smile There are items you can use that freeze time temporarily (Cronostasis and it costs 1 EP to use, which you get several of and can refresh with other items) so you'll actually spend a lot of time in Cronostasis mode too. Again, this has the drawback of preventing time from progressing and thus being unable to access certain missions until you start time again - but it's good for freezing time while you explore or have to cover large distances.

It sounds strange but it's actually a damned good game .. though it's obvious they drifted further and further away from "classic" Final Fantasy titles into God of War >_> Dazz is right though, it's something I've said since the start; XIII-2 and LR:FF are *by far* the superior games. XIII-2 fixes everything that was terrible about XIII and the combat system is expanded now too, you have two characters, Noel and Serah, and you can capture monsters to fill out the 3rd position. As for LR:FF? It's.... different. Very different.

I have also never had any problems with time limit when I played for a few hours on Xbox360. It's really not an issue.

the time limit is kinda irrelevant in LR, it just spooks you out at the start. I finished LR with like 6-7 days spare

The Eidolons in XIII are tough to conquer because they're effectively puzzle battles. You need to cast and check Libra to find out the Eidolon "yield" condition.

The "Doom" timer is also greatly extended if you switch to easy difficulty but that in turn has other downsides like reducing or completely eliminating the rare drops from mobs.

Yep, "Easy" mode doubles common drops but eliminates rare drops, so it's a trade-off.

Theres is more than enough time to finish the game yes but i didn't do all the sidequests and didn't explore as much as i wanted.
Basically the game made me feel bad when wasting time without making any progress.
Chronostasis spamming is a pain in the ass, they only last a short amount of time and you have to open the menu to use them while constantly fighting enemies to not let your EP run out.
I guess most people don't have a problem with the time limit but as i'm someone who likes to progress through games slowly while exploring every inch of the map this game annoyed the fuck out of me.

But now with the PC version trainers and other utilities like Cheat-Engine will probably make the time limit much easier to deal with if desired, although I'd imagine the game will trigger certain events on certain times plus that above about NPC's being in certain locations depending on the time so it might not be as simple as locking it from decreasing right after the game starts.
(Like in Dead Rising I guess where if you pull back the time to before the game has started all the zombies will be gone since the outbreak hasn't happened yet as the game sees it.)

You'll likely be able to freeze the time with just Cheat Engine, anyway.

Of all the system requirements info, it's THAT I like the most. Almost double the size of the console version and since there are *very* few prerendered cutscenes then we can at least extrapolate some higher quality textures and assets Very Happy

Hey guys,

Following up on the recent announcement regarding downloadable content from the original console version being included in the upcoming PC /Steam release, we are pleased to share that the following content will be included:

Opponent: Omega
Opponent: Lightning & Amodar
Opponent: Nabaat
Opponent: Ultros & Typhon
Opponent: PuPu
Opponent: Gilgamesh
Serah's Outfit: Summoner's Garb
Serah's Outfit: Beachwear
Serah's Outfit: White Mage
Noel's Outfit: Battle Attire
Noel's Outfit: Spacetime Guardian
Noel's Outfit: Black Mage
Mog's Outfits: A Wondrous Wardrobe
Sazh: Heads or Tails?
Lightning: Requiem of the Goddess
Snow: Perpetual Battlefield

* The further DLC that was released with the original console versions will not be released with the Windows PC version (either with the original Windows PC version release, or later on as separate update content), due to licensing and contractual restrictions.

http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_Final_Fantasy_XIII-2_Downloadable_Content

So basically they included all the major content, including story/side-quest DLC and all the Arena combat, but cut all the weapons;

*Seraphic Wing
*Genji Bow
*Azrael
*Catastrophe Blade
*Murumasa

And the licensed outfits;

*N7 Armour (for both Noel and Serah)
*Style & Steel (Japanese Idol sponsor)
*Assassin's Creed

JP-exclusive accessories;

*Gift of the Songstress Pack (included with music single)
*Gospel of Goddess Pack (included with mini-OST for the game)
*Stiltzkin's Journal (included with Famitsu magazine)

No big deal, we actually expected no less to be honest. The weapon bit is VERY strange though - hopefully they clarify why those are gone since they weren't exclusive to a country or platform or extraneous purchase bonus.

That's going to be just a day before or after XIII-2 no? Well I only have chapter 14 and 15 left of XIII so it shouldn't take too long, was waiting for this update to be released before continuing.
