The game runs pretty well for me at ultra 2560x1600, but man the game play sucks, the game literally does everything for you... ok call me old (Im old) but this game is not fun.

Tried the game. Still not in Paris. So far the performance for me has been rock solid, but shadow not on highest setting and no AA. Don't want to turn those on, tbh >D

FPS between 75-85, cinematic FPS went down to 35 once.

Wonder how much of a raep Paris will be >D

I got it running, like a few have mentioned, it seems to run ok on my modest rig, pretty well surprisingly, I was worried about all I have read lol. To me it looks better and runs about the same as Black FLag, as I am playing that one now too? The only thing I have changed is AA, I set that to x2msaa seems to running fine? My rig is just a 2600k and a 290x (Great combo) on a pci 2.0 MB(need new motherboard, and CPU to go with it someday))..? lol

The running on rails thing, yeah I feel that too, noticed it on Black Flag too, kinda annoying that

2600k, GigaByte R9 290x, 8 gis of ram on Windows 7 X64

A shame that so many people won't play it because of technical issues, I played 13 hours so far and it might be the best AC game yet. Sad

Also holy shit, I got raped fast by two 5-star guards, they all attack at once and require a dodge-dodge-parry combo which is almost impossible to do when multiple guards attack you, I think I died more in Unity that in any AC game combined.

So, I don't get GPU usage drops at all. Game seeps GPU bound to me, and I never got stutters and other nasty stuff like that. I'm running latest drivers, and YARR version of the game.

My cpu is a 3570k at 4.5 GHZ and my GPU is a 780 Ti at 1240 Mhz. So both these stuff are OC'd.

I get 60+ FPS in Paris at 1080p, All highest, except shadows and AA (TXAA basically halves performance). Shadows are High, and FXAA.

Get very minor dips every now and then.

-----

But the crowds look like shit, mates. Really. I don't see the crowds being bigger than in Absolution, and they are definitely LESS detailed. Crowds in fact look like ass.

The city is very nicely detailed though, jumping on rooftops is a delight, scenery is great. Combat also sucks ass though. They just can't seem to make this good, no matter how hard they try. Combat is clumsy, feels slow, and is just as easy as before.

EDIT: Just read, what Neona wrote. I admit, I met only 2 star guards so far, so the jury is out on combat.

imoimoimo ofc.

Different tactics for different enemies, some will even dodge pistol shots which is a bit weird seeing them roll or dodge as you fire but it does make the game more challenging which isn't a bad thing in my opinion.
(Easier enemies can still be killed quickly by countering or parrying or just spamming attacks with a better quality weapon.)

EDIT: Although that above sounds more like a equipment issue, get those five star and gold star weapons quickly. Smile
(Since the only thing needed is money now, or certain online actions but you can still get most of the gear immediately when the game opens up after the second chapter.)

Well there's that too I suppose, have to make people want to invest in Helix points. Razz
(Which isn't that necessary since you can still make money quickly though the Assassin Creed points for upgrading equipment can be a bit trickier.)

Well it's a Nvidia supported game much like Far Cry 4 (Unlike it's prequel.) will be, whereas say Dragon Age Inquisition will be AMD sponsored.
(Although I'm not sure how much of a difference that makes these days.)

It's annoying that they hinder things for one another since it affects us normal players most but that's the way it is, I'm surprised AMD managed to get out a beta driver for Crossfire support for Unity so quickly.

EDIT: Of course for the CPU side the AMD lineup simply isn't as efficient as the Intel ones so that's a bigger problem though with more cores being utilized it's better than it used to be.

The cpu perf isn't much of a problem as it is the GPU one, look at them side by side, i can understand a fx 6100 going with a minimum of 35 frames, but then you got a 760 or 280x that can barelly keep 30 frames constantly.Wouldnt be so much of a problem if people could lower settings to make it smooth, but going from Ultra to Low does shit.

Shit is broken.

And yet my CPU is only at 50% utilized, so I'm not seeing any bottleneck there.

It's simply poor support for AMD cards, maybe it uses the uber PhysX crap, although I see no way to disable it...

With that reasoning, no man can withstand 10 bullets in the gut, yet it happens in shooters. Oh well, bitch to bitch.
