|
 |
...without taking any lessons on my first attempt. Just made research and practicing it with my own car. I didn't wanted to spend £20 an hour ( which is a con) and no one beleived me that i could pass without taking any lessons. But I must say I was very nervous at the beginning of the test and couldn't sleep the night before. : ) Anyway please share your memories with us if you have any regarding your practical test. And good luck to anyone that will be going for it in the near future.

I'm sorry about your mate UserFriendly7, and yes cars should be taking seriously as they are not toys and one wrong move and thats it, you're gone! My parents say a car is like a walking coffin : )

well done. My m8 failed his last tuesday. Had a BS tester though. Around here they have to fail 1 in 5 or something like that and he was the first of the day. He had 2 minros and 1 major which was braking too hard. He said he was comin up to a junction and some guy came speedin out of nowhere so he put the breaks on and dint stall it or anything. They can't fail him for that or even for stalling he just had a twat . I need to start drivin soon, nearly all my m8s have cars now

Yep thats right, it really does depend on the examiner. If he/she is having a bad day then you have very litle chance of passing because they can be very picky. I had a very nice lady and she was chatting to me through out the test about her life : ) maybe to calm me down. But I think I drove good on the test too. Anyway I think there is a luck factor aswell, I mean if you don't get into odd situations such as other cars forcing you to make mistakes then you wouldn't have any problems.

Ever think you could bribe an instructor? Like just hand over £500 and say nothing . My mate who failed 4 times always thinks about doing it in jest

or u can just learn to drive i'd rather pass safely than be legal but at risk of crashing because I couldn't drive properly.

Well, it's not hard to drive a car, the important think is you have to follow certain rules. Heck everyone can drive a car on the road. : )

They are going too far now:
Quote: | A news story that appeared in the Daily Mail newspaper reported that the Home Office plan to turn over 1,000 traffic light cameras into speed cameras. "More than 1,000 traffic-cameras used to catch drivers jumping red lights are to converted so they can also trap speeders".

This is turning into a money making scheme.

once? we still do...there are certain intersections in Toronto and the GTA where the lights have build in cameras...they record your speed and if u jump a red light...2 weeks ago my bud got a huge ticket cuz of one of them....it was in Peel tho, not Toronto...caught him going like 100kph in a 60kph zone and he jumped a red...they sent him pics and everything...cant really fight it when they do that

I have seen a few signs about red light cams in the city too -- they don't really bother me since I don't run reds |
Oh yeah...that shit is tight...if everyone did the 100kph...itd have worse traffic than now. Ive had some bad luck on the 401 tho

Its 15 here... i got mine when i was 15 too |
well, when I got my license, all u got was a 365 (365 day) leaners permit and then u could do ur test for a full license...i was 15 or 16...now,i think u got to be 16 to get ur G1, 18 for your G2 and once u have ur G2, it takes 3 years till u get ur G (full license, no restrictions)...although,a G2 is a full permit, just if u get stopped and have ANY amount of booze in ur system, u get booked/fined or whatever. With a G, ur allowed to have the legal limit of booze in u, whatever that may be...I dont drive anymore.

almost ... 16 for G1 (just a written test), then you have to wait either 8 months (with driving school) or 12 months (without) to do G2 road test. Once you have G2 you have to wait 12 months until you can take the road test for full G class. You have max 5 years to finish G1-->G or you have to start over (I cut this really close myself).

thats even worse...I dunno tho, I was lucky and got the good old 365. And u know what kills me? If its that hard/lengthy to get a license nowadays, why do we have so many bad drivers on the fuckin road? Seriously, atleast once a week i come close to being in a serious accident...so many bad drivers on the road, baffling...
