99% of ports are shit and still get paid for (desperate in denial fuckers)
Kickstarter is a pipe dream scam
Delays, delays delays

Is "master race" a denial statement in compensation for great fears

On the console, it may be 99 pixels but delays ain't one.
on the PC it's 4k but they sure are full of disappointment

Delays maybe a real issue, but Ill gladly wait 6 months not to have to use a damn controller to play game.
And so far I never had problems with shitty ports, but then I dont play games that needed to be ported..If it was console first, I knew it was a crappy game when they announced it was on consoles Razz If you can play the game with 2 sticks and 6 buttons, its not my type of game. (gta4 is the only one I can think of I played that was, and it runs fine for me)

And kickstarters been the 'etsy' site for gaming since I first heard of it to me. Lots of useless crap people want money for thats not worth it. Unless you WANT a side scrolling, pixel art castlemetroid game..then they got you covered there! Laughing

Ever tried playing a simulator like DCS World, Rise of Flight or IL2 Sturmovik on a console?
How about roguelikes like Dwarf Fortress, Cataclysm DDA, Dungeon Crawl.
What about emulating all the consoles from the past? Can you play old nintendo or sega games on your Xbone?
What about gamecube, wii, ps1 or ps2 games in 4k resolution?
Competitive gaming?

I could list more, but I don't care enough. It's a shame you're restricted to potato gaming.

As someone who owns an old gen + nextgen console + a gaming PC, I can safely say that the *only* thing the consoles have going for them are exclusives, that's it.

This, I used to love consoles as much as my PC (always had both from the age of 6), but the last one that I loved that much was the Dreamcast. After that it was pretty much just for exclusives and not that many that are worth it when you absolutely despise shooters with gamepads.

Fire pls... such an amateurish attempt Cool Face

It is true that we often get treated like third world citizens, with 1:1 straight ports with no QA whatsoever, mythological strategically placed loltimization™ delays and whatnot, that is undeniable. But those are just minor bumps that the PC Gaming supertank can barely feel, because of its basically infinite co-axial library, exceptional IQ armor, modding-based plates, superior m&k periscope, and 100% retrocompatible engine parts. Which platform has the biggest number of titles, have the broadest support for emulation, can be used for thousands of purposes?

I doubt I can run freeCAD on X1 or PS4... and using a gamepad to move primitives and create parts and designs... lmao. Wink

When I can play Paradox grand strategies on consoles, without being compromised in any way in terms of complexity...I'll consider buying one. Then immediately reject the idea as ludicrous. Very Happy

Oh...and Dwarf Fortress, naturally.

I know, I have 3 of them..

the original A500 i bought in September 1987 with a standard 0.5MB RAM-card and a kickswitch with Kickstart 1.2 and 2.04 (and a spare A500 to use for parts)

An A3000D (Amiga 3000 Desktop) with a PCD-50B SCSI-cardreader (ie. I can use SD, CF-cards etc. as fast replacement for SCSI drives)

An Amiga 1200 with a Blizzard 1230 MKIV populated with a fulll 50MHz 68030 (no EC or LC-version) and a 50MHz 68882 and a 64MB SIMM 70ns (instead of 80). I replaced the DIL-crystal with a 55.5MHz. In itself 5.5MHz extra may not sound like much but when the CPU (with MMU) and FPU runs at 55.5MHz it increases the 32-bit memory transfer handling of the CPU. I went from 9 to 11 MIPS.

Inside there's an IDE-CF adapter with a SanDisk Extreme IV 4GB CF-card used as the HD. I've also invested in the Indivision AGA MK2cr and have a 17" 1280x1024 LCD connected with DVI. Very Happy

I do have a ZX Spectrum 48K+ that has been composite-modded and no longer use the shitty RF-modulator, a Kempston Pro card (with 3 different joystick ports and a cartridge port) plus some other stuff.

Then there's the two C64c's and the C128, two 1541's...

And a Philips CM8833 monitor with several different input options that I plan to use with the C64 (RGB), C128 (RGBI, 80-column mode) and the Speccy (composite).

did you though about investing in HxC Floppy Emulator ? then you could have 4 gig SD cards with software and interchange them like floppys ...

but then you would just when all games and demos would fit in 4gigs
