Hello

I am in the US and MBAs are $200 cheaper here

If I buy a stock one, i5 CPU and 4GB RAM, is it easy to upgrade myself later on?

I've upgraded a lot of laptops in my time, but never a Mac

I'm pretty sure the SSD is soldered to the board, but I'll get a 256GB model which is more than enough

Thanks!

I think the only thing you can actually upgrade is the memory, everything else would be impossible Sad

Unless things have changed... I have the mid 2011 model, and can't upgrade shite in it.

In an MBA you can't upgrade anything without breaking warranty.

The good news here is sometime in the future you should be able to upgrade the SSD, its replaceable!

4GB is not enough these days. Even browsing the internet is enough to clog. While Mavericks helps somewhat, you want at least 8GB.
