;(

He's been handing off stuff for a while now, but he's still the one who has done all the more personal articles with people from Intel, AMD, Qualcomm, IBM and so on.

Yeah it is. Technically, some of the new people really know their shit. Ryan's good, Kristian (the SSD guy) has absolutely continued Anand's deep insights into SSDs. To me, there's still no better site for SSDs; much like Jonny Guru for PSUs. And part of that is because of Anand, he has forged great relationships with all the greats, allowing them to get detailed insights.

It's his more personal touch I'll miss. Anand has always had these offshoot articles, where he spoke about his meetings and conversations with some of the people in the industry; also where he got them to be more forthcoming than towards other sites. With Intel about their fabs for example. Or with AMD, about Cypress. It's those articles that I enjoy the most, because it shows how Anandtech is different from a lot of other sites; they're not like most sites, where they just receive samples for review. Same goes for Jonny.

Wonder what he's gonna do now though Smile

If Brian joined them as well, at least that means Apple might finally keep calibrating their displays properly. Both Anand and Brian have slagged them off in the past for their shit calibration Razz
