wow with cards ? .
the carte topic reminded me that i pledged (10$) on ks for this :
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/cze/hex-mmo-trading-card-game
oficial site : http://hextcg.com/
From the creators of the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game, HEX is a TCG / MMO that combines the best of both for your PC & MAC
What are our goals for HEX?
• We want to bring together both experienced TCG veterans and new players who have never played a collectible card game before. The game is free to download and play, so anyone can give it a try!
• We want you to join guilds with other TCG players and practice dueling with the latest deck builds.
• We want you to enter online TCG tournaments and win awesome prizes.
• We want you to take your TCG skills and have them drive an RPG experience, unlocking new cards and treasure, as well as developing your character within a compelling, completely original story.
• Most of all, we want the experience to be deep, engaging, and polished.
(searched for hex, but found nothing.)

Got a spare Beta key if anyone is interested.
No PvE content yet though, except for AI matches (matches being occasionally buggy, AI being occasionally retarded). You are also severely limited in PvP if unwilling to engage in MTX, but I guess any person familiar with Magic already knew that.
Seeing how Hasbro has taken them to court recently, there's probably a cynical explanation for that massive key giveaway they just did.

Done, no idea if extra beta is tier-based, but anyway, two keys are better than one:)

sounds cool, i loved the adventure mode on the original PC magic the gathering but with equipment/sockets/items/leveling etc on cards i think the complexitiy is just going to make it a mess.
I mean with 350+ cards already you need to know at a glance what they do to kept the game flowing and not make silly mistakes, with all the customization i think its just going to be a cluster fuck.

and tbh it feels much better than heartstone |
Going to give this a shot, as rules wise it seems to follow Magic: The Gathering very closely.
That said, it's not that hard to be "better than Hearthstone" - as Hearthstone is to card games what Counter Strike is to shooters and World of Warcraft is to MMOs - pure crap from the simple-minded masses.
Honestly, the only thing that keeps me from forsaking Blizzard altogether is Diablo, and even that took them SEVERAL YEARS to fucking fix to where it wasn't absolute shit.

I think I'll try this as well if it has a good PvE mode.
I don't exactly have a problem with PvP but I have a problem with it being the only option.
I play Hearthstone occasionally but now I'm finding it difficult to complete dailies by various classes to get gold because my card collection is so, so far behind. Also it takes forever to earn card packs, like I'd rather just buy 50 packs than put in the time to farm 5000 gold. Except I'd also rather NOT buy them.
So yeah...it's a conundrum.

Played this most of today.
Mechanics wise I love it. It's more or less a carbon copy of Magic: The Gathering, save for the fact that every "land" card (here they're called "charge" cards and there's 5 types of em) also serves as a wildcard in addition to its specific type. This means you don't have to worry about tapping specific mana.
From what I can tell, there's no way to use the "gold" (free currency) you gain from playing the PvE campaign to purchase boosters, as all the stuff in store uses the pay-for Platinum currency. This may change later, but hasn't for me yet in the campaign.
The art work is nice, nowhere near as incredible as Magic, mind you (and a lot of the cards are lacking those beautiful flare descriptions Magic has), but they're way better than the craptastic crayon artstyle that Blizzard adapted for Hearthstone.
This one's a keeper - the campaign is long and intricate, and from what I can tell free to play all the way through. Give this a shot if you like Magic, as there's nothing to lose.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

Some of the fights are insanely brutal... Sea hag destroyed me over and over again until I moved on to do some other quest. Also lets not talk about the awful desert with the gnomes, what a pain

I don't like or play blizzard games at all but I can't help but notice...
following your logic, isn't diablo also pure crap for the simple minded masses? |
I can help u with that. Keeping in mind Blizzard has so much recources and money to make an ultimate game, but they just pour in some bullshit crap. And my 6 year old daughter almost beating the crap out of me cause there is only one build, one item, one dungeon layout, one RNG... And even then u get like zero chances in advancing if u are semi pro player. So yes, expect Diablo 4 coming in couple of years for casual simple minded masses. Cause blizzard is here for the money and not for the content to a community.

Mmm nah I like Hearthstone. I'll try Hex out but there's an undeniable beauty in the "easy to grasp, hard to master" idea behind HS.
