Agreed.

I'm somewhat disappointed with VG. The last 2 games they showed themselves unable to adapt or think out of the box.
Shitty picks, tunnelvision, chasing like noobs,...

Highpoint for this TI was C9 vs VG game 2. That was one awesome match Smile

seems that VG was a bit tired, coming from several games the day before while Newbee had 2 days resting and watching opponents play.

The finals did feel underwhelming but Newbee's execution was flawless.

Dota 2 Workshop Tools Alpha Released
http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/discussions/-1/35220315609182517/?appid=570

"3rd Person RPG? No problem. Dead man drifting racing game? Too easy. 100vs100 live MMO server? Certainly doable."

Quote:
Today, we are excited to announce the Alpha release of the Dota 2 Workshop Tools. This is the first release of a new set of tools to create, play, and share custom maps and game modes for Dota 2. This is a developer focused release and currently has high system requirements, but soon everyone will be able to play. While this is still an early release with some instability, we believe it is important to give the community access to these tools as soon as possible. Using your feedback we will make frequent updates, improvements, and expansions to the tool suite.

Some of the features in this release include major changes to how content is created, delivered, and experienced for Dota 2:

- Completely New Tools - The new suite of tools support creating and importing content for custom games. This set of tools requires a 64-bit version of Windows, Direct3D 11 compatible GPU, and opting into the Steam Client Beta.
- Steam Workshop Submissions - This early version includes the ability to upload and distribute custom game modes through the Workshop. This new automated process allows players to subscribe to an author's custom game mode to automatically keep current as updates are released by the author.
- Testing Custom Game Modes - This alpha release is focused on getting the tools to developers first. Currently playing custom games requires a 64-bit version of Windows and a Direct3D 11 compatible GPU. In upcoming future releases we will extend support to more systems (including 32-bit and Direct3D 9) and make it easier for players to download, find matches for, and play user created game modes.

These tools are for you and we're looking forward to seeing where the community takes us in developing content for the expanding Dota universe. Help us make Dota 2 even bigger and better. Leave us feedback with your experience and suggestions on the Workshop Discussions.

Sounds and looks very interesting and can't wait to see those custom maps/games from Blizzard games! And a good reason for me to start up this game since a very long time Very Happy

I don't play DOTA 2, but this is really awesome news to see mention of the Source 2 engine and these killer dev tools. That's why I love Valve so much. They are always looking to help the development/mod community, while we can't even get mods any more for most of the games.

So is Valve actually going to ruin the game by forcing it on the Shitebox or are those just random files?

Dota 2 Update - August 14th, 2014
Product Update - Valve
Mastery Gems
- Mastery and Kinetic gem functionality has been merged and the term “Mastery Gem” removed. What were previously called mastery gems are now kinetic gems. Kinetic gems can change animations, change abilities, add or modify particle FX, change ability icons, and modify other features of the item they are attached to.

The following changes have been made to complete the transition to a keyless economy:

Treasure Keys
- Treasure Keys are no longer sold on the Dota 2 store.
- All basic treasures that were previously opened with a Treasure Key have been removed from the game and the Steam Community Market.
- Treasure Keys can now be redeemed for a free unlocked Treasure of your choice. When you use the treasure key a new redemption menu will open. Immortal treasures and some older special event treasures are excluded from this menu, but otherwise the list of treasures is unrestricted. One key can be exchanged for any one treasure. As new treasures are added to the game, they will also be added to this menu.
- All treasure keys will expire and be removed from the game one year from now on July 1st, 2015. Keys must be redeemed by that time.

What the fuck?!? Shocked

Or to remind that if it's implemented, it won't be done in such a way to allow people to use steam wallet to directly trade with traders to get cheap games with their wallet funds instead of using their own stores.
