You Germans are so damn proud of your purity law (water, barley, hops). Bought two cases of warsteiner and it was pretty much like cheap beer here in Norway brewed the same way. So, not again

Hater.

Go to Greece. Try a "native greek" beer, like Mythos, Fix, or whatever.
They taste like sink-water with foam. Vomit

So don't talk smack about german beer. It's a huge market, sure, there are a few black sheep, for every shit beer you have 3 good beers around. You have the alternative.
haha, Norwegians seem to LOVE Mythos. But I guess its more because of the all over experience of a visit to Greece. And im sure there are lots of great German beer, but most people here either drink beer from Denmark or Holland

Mythos is how I imagine Budweiser beer. Or any american beer for that matter...

As someone who works for Budweiser.... I can confirm... our beer sucks Sad

But we do carry some really good brands though. Stella Artois, Goose Island, Blue Point, Becks, Spaten Smile Just to name a few

Belgian beer is the best! But German is second... I still remember drinking ducksteiner in Hamburg, that was awesome. Brazil has a few small breweries that make awesome beer as well, but the main ones suck.

I only drink when I raid on World of Warcraft. For some reason killing dragons while sober is just not damn fun.

The greatest beer type in the world is India Pale Ale, hands down! Also Belgian Ale (Blonde), Scottish and British Ale. Also rice beer is great.
There are so many shitass beers in Poland it's just sad Crying or Very sad

Also i really like cider but it's tough to buy a good one here. The only ok one here is Weston's vintage cider (it's semi-dry, not sweet).

Or he could try some of the smaller Norwegian breweries. They are quite good. Nøgne Ø, Haandbryggeriet and maybe Lervig? Drink locally, it's good for the environment.

So what would you recommend instead? Most Reinheitsgebot beer I've tasted can be a bit bland.

I think they are sold in well asorted beer shops all around the world(at least in Europe). Still smallish compared to so much else. I didn't really find them all that expensive. Maybe 70 kr? for 50 cl for a nice beer. Not that bad compared to the price you take for watery lagers. I guess it's a matter of perspective.
Btw try the porter. You wont regret it.

Occasionally, I'll take a break from damaging my liver to play some games.
