sub 3.2ghz rigs?
From what I've read, if your cpu is under that, turbo mode bug might occur.

mostly i5's or i7's with 2.5-3 Ghz got the bug
but strangely it works fine on the worst one aka C2D with 2.2Ghz

Those of you that ran it perfectly at 60 fps, did you have it installed on an SSD?
I can run it at 60 but it stutters too much when driving to enjoy it.

No it's playable perfectly with modern PCs. I tried the game 3 years ago and it was completely unplayable. Right now it isn't. Cars work fine too.

So has anyone tried the GOG version? My Steam version is completely fucked and I can't get it running at normal speed no matter what.

Yeah, I've tried every possible percentage. The best I could get was 80% or 120% speed.

Volition just confirmed that they have found the Saints Row 2 PC source-code, and will be fixing the game on Steam, making it run through Steamworks instead of Gamespy, and will receive the previously exclusive DLC! |
Can't wait!

How the fuck does one lose source code to a multi-million dollar project/game?

THQ was the owner of the IP at the time of the PC conversion, which was not handled by Volition, hence they did not have access to the PC source code.

You mean like how Square Enix lost the source code for Final Fantasy VIII?

Quote: | It was unexpected and heartwarming to hear that my health was the top concern from everyone rather than just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about delays. The saints row community really are the best people and I'm so incredibly proud to be a part of it and act as its voice to the studio.
Sorry for the lack of updates but things are really difficult for me right now, and I've needed this time to unplug while on medical leave. Dealing with Stage 4 cancer in my face and neck is a nightmare to go through with the radiation and chemo. I hope to be back in action sometime in late October. A lot of it depends on how quickly I recover from the treatments though.
Fixing SR2 is not about advertising or supporting the launch of our new game. It's about me pushing as hard as I can to fix it because of my love for the game. Of course our marketing team sees it as an opportunity for good press (that's what Brand and Marketing are for,) but they have left this in my hands to do. Timing is my decision and not on any kind of schedule to hit a certain date.
Volition and Deep Silver have been incredible with their support. Both as organizations, and from the individual people. I've been moved to tears by the things they've done to help me during this.
Fixing Saints Row 2 PC means everything to me, and is the legacy that I want to leave behind. In fact, this project and the release of our new Saints Row game is what keeps me fighting every day so that I can be here to see it and be a part of it. Please rest easy that If I eventually can't finish because of my health, or if the cancer takes me early, I have everything in place for the work to continue on without me. |

Fuck, that's rough. The guy knows it's over, and yet continues on to try and finish it regardless in what time he's got left. That's some willpower right there.
