Anyone with nvidia got some weird main menu font glitching? Happens only with HDAO + 4x MSAA enabled. (AMD feature or not?)
As soon as i switch back to SSAO + 4x MSAA or HDAO-High + FXAA-High it goes back to normal.

Same with this guy it seems:

You leave that residue behind when walking through stuff as well, I guess it's supposed to be ectoplasm or something. Razz
(Doesn't happen on everything you walk through though, mostly larger objects and probably a mechanic to show you that you can/have walked through this object.)

EDIT: Kinda like a slug trail I suppose then, or some such.

Doesn't seem to show on screenshots... Do you mind checking that out or anyone with nvidia? It's not a big deal though. Smile

Also finished it, got everything aside from the ghost girl drawings, could't be assed to look for them.

Ending was a bit anticlimatic, but the game did a nice job of misleading you about the killer's identity.

Haha you guys are fast. Razz I had to sneakily download it from the office this afternoon as they have a glorious 20Mbit (for my standards, that is) and just tried it for ~50 minutes. I was too curious.

So far, I'd say..everything went better than expected. It looks pretty good (lots of PC-related options, too), didn't notice any major bugs and the story seems definitely more interesting than I had anticipated.

The gameplay though is a tad hit and miss for me. The idea behind it is great, with small hubs, fancy noclip mode, basic human interactions and even some stealth, the execution on the other hand..has some flaws, especially when it comes to the investigative part which I find very streamlined and not too rewarding. It's all about wandering around, pressing a button, waiting for the awesome to unwrap itself. Cool Face But the way the narration is presented is good, so it's not a big problem. It's more like an interactive story rather than an adventure game, and I'm fine with that as long as they don't go full-retard with the plot later on. Smile

Thanks for that mini-review (the best so far). The game sounds like a nice time waster (ISO demo of course) for next christmas when there's nothing else to play Razz

Twice now the game stopped responding to my keyboard inputs after viewing a clue forcing me to minimize and close the game. Laughing

Anyway, I played for an hour and a half and I like it so far except for the stupid "execution" mechanics.

Not only is it tedious, changing the button input everytime you do it adds nothing of value to the game.

Quite a way in and its a piece of shit. The only reason i'm still going is because i want to see how the story ends (and if it ends like i predicted i will kill someone).

There's just nothing to like in this game. Salem is probably the smallest town in the US, since everything is around 200m apart, i still don't see why we even need the free roam aspect since all you fucking do is collect pieces of info and unless you're OCD why would you even bother? The 2 "sidequests" are hilarious since everything you need to know is right next to the person. Investigations are totally pointless, you walk around a room gathering clues and then make conclusions. What that means is you walk around the room, pressing a button when a hotspot appears then clicking a image to make the story go forward. There's NO challenge, nothing. Its just pressing buttons for the sake of it.

Then you have the fucking demons which is one of the most tedious things in games ever. The reason being i don't understand why it needs to be there. Who tested this game and said "my god, those demons, what a fun and challenging gameplay mechanic"... Its just a thing to make the game feel 5 min longer and a whole lot more tedious.

To me it looks like someone played Walking Dead/Wolf/Heavy Rain/Beyond Two Souls and wanted to make something similar. But instead of just going for a linear story driven experience, they decide to put "gameplay" in it for no reason whatsoever. Its just pressing fucking buttons. You help someone escape from a police station... the only thing you do is walk up to the only brightly lit phone/printer, use your ghostly powers to make it go berserk, cop goes to check, the person you're helping can pass. Repeat. Why was it even necessary? And its not like you can actually screw anything up...

Oh yeah, i almost forgot, the "ghost powers" sound cool at first but its obvious they are there just for certain situations. You can posses people and mind read them! Sounds cool, eh? Well apparently the people of Salem carry two 1 sentence thoughts. You can't even posses someone to have a little fun or anything. NOTHING.

Couldn't have said it better. I'm finishing the game just to see how the story ends, but the gameplay is criminally shallow and underdeveloped.

The story is decent, so is the ending, but the gameplay could have used more work.

Those stealth segments are tedious.

The story is okay-ish. But the gameplay can get seriously tedious.

The problem is caring. You can pick up a fucking ton of collectables everywhere which unlock random letters, comments etc. about the killer, Salem and other stuff. But why go to all the trouble!? If i want to learn about the witch trails its much easier just to read the wiki and i don't care what other characters think since there's no bond there. The game tells me i should care but i don't. I finished it, the ending was okay, but then everything ended so quickly i didn't even care about it.

It was really short. I think i played yesterday for about 4 hours and i finished today in about 1? Maybe its around 6 but yeah insanely short.

Unless you want to go around dreary Salem to collect all the crap and collect the crap in each individual area. I really couldn't be bothered since i just didn't care.

I recorded the first 30 minutes, too bad shadowplay recorded it at 720p, i´m guessing it was due to the constant switching between cut-scenes and the game engine.

720P isn't too bad for a Youtube video, of course due to their changed streaming system I get constant pauses and such on anything above 480P which is irritating but other than the HD resolutions Youtube has worked OK most of the time, this new Google+ integration is something I'm not too fond of either though.
