Sounds tasty. Can't wait for them to implement planet landings. If they can make them at least as pretty in all respects as Space Engine's gorgeous visuals, then I'll be a happy little pilot.
So far it sounds like how i imagined Infinity, without being vapourware of course.

Love what they have done with the latest alpha. And the new hyperdrive so freaking sweet!!!! no loading screen!!! you have to see it
Damn can't wait for the beta+oculus devk2
Holy shit. That looks very close to what i was hoping for. Realistic distances, every dot on the "skybox" is an actual star you can visit, etc. The visuals are not quite Space Engine level of quality, but i can look past that.
that's what u can call it "building a hype" - no super polished hangars, no helmet animations and so on , but it feels like real space sim game. I bet those users with oculus rift can feel that even deeper
don't want to be mean, but this is the game that should all those 40 mil bucks spent and not that SC skeleton thing without soul (let's hope for now hehe)
Obviously u don't need so many millions to make an amazing game - u just have to have brains hehe. Afaik Braben has it Let's hope he won't dissapoint us with later game stages
I simply adore those sounds. Perfectly captures what Lucas went for in the original SW trilogy. They sound like old technology, used for generations and nobody bothered to hammer out the kinks. That sound of the engine winding down after leaving FTL is just great.
They seem to have the basics down. Hope they can add flare to the gameplay with equal success.
Btw these guys are NUTS. They are seriously messed up in the head. I am NO WAY paying 120$ for BETA access What are they thinking? I am excited about the game but I am getting the iso demo for sure. I was ready to back the game for about 20-30$, but 120 - no way bro!

It's always like this for kickstarter games though.. wouldnt be very fair to backers who payed a lot of money to get into beta only to see that they could have gotten the same beta access by paying $30 instead. It's the exact same with other KS games, though prices are a bit different depending on how much you had to back to get beta access.
This is more for people who wants to support the development, the final game will most likely cost like any other game..
Again, it will depend on what the price was to get into beta. If you just can't wait you'll have to pay a lot to get beta access, if you rather wait for the finished product and have no interest in supporting the development you just wait and you'll also get the game much cheaper. I dont really see the problem? Wasteland is a lot cheaper to get into but still quite expensive at 45 euro..
The problem is - the devs want their game to be popular and to sell well, and in the same time they are limiting the potential buyers by themselves with putting so high price.
I searched on Steam, no hits so it doesn't even seem to be available yet? But again, that's not the final price (if its available from their site or whatever) and the beta is obviously not intended for the general public since they would be playing an unfinished game, that alone can put people off and is not good marketing in general.. the price is aimed towards the real hardcore fans who wants to fund the development and perhaps also play the beta.
I'm watching it now and it looks so good, though I do understand some of the complaints people have made in relation to scope versus Star Citizen. ED seems very limited in scope; you buy a ship, go kill pirates/be a pirate, trade goods, buy better gear and a better ship to kill more pirates/be a stronger pirate and to carry more goods. It's... rather anaemic. Fun, pretty, but seems empty. Hopefully "post launch content" comes thick and fast, bringing more meat to the game.
Also, I hope they change the current trade/outfit restrictions as not being able to see what items are for sale unless you already have the money to buy them? That's remarkably silly. How on earth will you know what to aim for if you don't know it exists?
*obligatory; "but at least it has more content than Chris Roberts presents Chris Roberts' Hangar Simulator by Chris Roberts"
I love how people keep being impressed by how "finished" it seems, given that it does nothing new - and doesn't even match Frontier in terms of features. They don't even have planetary landings or anything - which was the one thing Frontier did that was really cool and no one else is doing. Worse, they have no external views and they have but a single HUD. Wow!
They chose to go small and easily doable - which is fine. People are impressed? Cool, to each his own.
But it has potential - and I've backed it, because I love space games. I also like that I'll have something to enjoy until SC is released.

Aaaaand we have contender for the most retarded decision in trading game ever
Yeah, that trading decision is ridiculous. No idea where they got that from.
As for the rest, I think it's great. A first-person sim form of Eve online, ala StarCitizen, could be fun if it's ever finished, but for now I just want another great space sim ala IW2, Elite, etc. It's been like a decade since the last decent one. And no matter how great SC turns out, it will ultimately have to be balanced for MMO play, which means lots of grinding, probably lag, etc. EliteD with its more 'dark souls' approach to multiplayer doesn't have to have that problem.
