I think the dude also appear in another place before staying for good in Door of Pharros, in Harvest Valley near the branch of yore.
Not sure though, could be mistaking

How to jump (with keyboard+mouse)?
This is really a hard game! After 20 years gaming i cant find jump...
It says "f"
f does nothing.
What is "RS"? how to dash? This is a pc port?
Most annoying menu ever!
After 20 years i really should buy a derpcontroller?

Agreed. I have no interest in using a controller. The remapping of keys is tedious and frustrating (sometimes it takes and sometimes not... and why can't I map side-buttons on the mouse???). The fact that the controller buttons are still visible on the screen is ridiculously stupid. I'm waiting for a mod/fix before I really start playing the game. Every 10 deaths or so, I'm making a new toon to play around with while I attempt to get used to the controls in case a mod doesn't come.

You can only jump while dashing (running while holding space). Personally I use KB+m - see the autohotkey script I posted a few posts above this one. I agree that the controls leave a lot to be desired.

Hm, trying to create a personal script for AutoHotkey. The delay in attacks is... killing me. 
So far got the commands (from Steam forums):

What is the default gamepad button for right-hand attack? I know the one for left-hand is Y. At "work" atm hehe, can't test the game.

Seeing as how you need to hold a button (LB) to have it raised your shield button must be constantly toggled or something.

you most likely won't get invaded for a long time, it's really hard to setup the game for invasions and nobody will know how to do it on first playthroughs.

Input delay on keyboard is bigger? I connected a 360 pad and even a light swing seems to react slower with the mouse. But when the game detects a real 360 pad, actually any xinput since I also tried it with an older controller with x360ce emu, it feels the need to run WmiPrvSE.exe at maximum load for ~10 seconds....wat?
Upon boot, after "press start" in the main menu, after trying to load a save from the list and when backing out of the button configs menu. During that time the game is frozen until that process stops working. Doing a log of it's activity didn't reveal anything special. When there is no controller connected it skips through those parts in half a second. What does WMI Provider host even have to do with the gamepad. It doesn't impact actual gameplay (yet) but it's still silly.
The UI may be dual-core unfriendly - icons for inventory items and shop item icons don't load until I switch pages or they load up after a few seconds or they all appear fine. The game runs 50-60fps most of the time, still didn't dip bellow 35 but if I run around a 60fps area and artificially limit the framerate to say 30, the icons load all the time. When I unlock it, they can disappear. It looks like UI rendering has disturbingly low priority or something so if there's not enough extra to spare from my CPU it slowly loads pictures...or it really really really want's it's own core? Currently equipped items seem to be in a cache so those appear almost every time, but other items load out of order one-by-one really fast under ideal circumstances so it looks like they were always there.
It's "just" a Core2Duo which runs the game a lot better than the consoles and my GTX560 is far from full load so I can't believe they couldn't find a better way to handle the UI because it's not like there is missing horsepower if it's hovering around 60 most of the time...ah fuck it, they forcefully left gamepad icons inside despite the fact that rendering any key on screen has been done since forever. In many aspects they did a great job and an awful job at the same time. :\

If your connection is HDMI->DVI it might work (it's 50/50 in this case).
The character keeps it up constantly if equipped, so stamina regen is slow...
