Just bought it, played like 1 hour, kinda cool actually! Even if the zombies are slow, they are really silent, and it's head shot only. Easy to panic when there are too many zombies around you, waste your ammo and then die.
I only did the police station level. Really nice, some doors are locked, you need to find the key, find extinguisher to extinguish fire and stuff

It's really good but too easy. But I'm guessing there'll be more choices when the "advanced options" option gets unlocked.
plus the game design is somewhat lame because the game (offices) plays like that:
- open the next segment of the level (key, gate etc.)
- make a lot of noise
- wait for zombies to come to you and slaughter them
the segment is clear so there's nothing to fight with, nothing to be afraid of. You're free to explore to open the next part of the level.
how can you kill the zombies besides the use of a gun? do you get the option to use a bat, chainsaw, katana, elements from around? if so, i'll give it a try...
While the undead outnumber the living, player zombies do need to be careful not to charge head first into a sledgehammer or bullet as you can return as a semi intelligent player controlled zombie for only so long before forced into our unique spectate mode. As a spectator you can traverse the map as easily as a survivor and/or zombie but beyond creeping out players as disgusting, fluttering cockroach you're nothing more than a spectator that can be crushed, smashed, shot, or blown apart only to return as another roach waiting to see the outcome of the game. Apparently cockroaches can survive whatever apocalypse is thrown at them.
According to this announcement it was released on Friday, and they released a hotfix earlier today that improves performance.
(When you lower the settings, or something.)
Ah! Sorry, I only just saw the announcement on the Steam news page and thought it was from today
I saw the game update but I assumed it was still in early access, had no idea it was released until you posted that link and then I checked on the Steam community page for the game itself and saw that announcement.
(From what I read the game was a bit "problematic" so I was waiting for the early-access version to be improved before trying it, seems I skipped the entire "EA" period though hopefully the game is in a better shape now.)
Which aspect is broken? Also I never had any lag at all, thats something on your end. I am telling you because I am playing the game since the closed beta so we had to play with the devs on US servers and I never had any lag.

I guess it was local server every time I played, or the fact that 100ms is lag to me and thats the lowest latency i get when connecting to US servers in any game.
Whats broken imo? lets see, piss easy game, where 90% of the time was spent catching the last guy hiding somewhere. I've literally played a dozen matches where poeple raged from the server, cause 1 guy was camping somewhere and the zombies couldn't find him.
I also don't know how people die to zombies in this game, I certainly never have in the 10ush hours i've played. In fact, all the games i've played consisted of a few people dying on purpose so they can hunt other players. which would lead to the above scenario again, with the last guy taking forever to find and kill.
When you go commercial, you can't have mods look more polished.
Animations are horrid, gun feedback as well.
But yeah, im downloading again and trying it now that it's out of early access.

Try playing the current version on Escape or Extraction, I can guarantee you its damn hard. Even on normal during the late game period it gets really tough. As for Hunted, the AI zombie numbers are increased greatly so you can just follow them and they will lead you to the last guy who's hiding.
The animations are being redone currently with new (and hopefully) better mo-cap tech, so you can expect an improvement in this aspect too.
Seriously, the game is not that bad as you are saying.
I kind of enjoyed that prison level despite randomly placed items and never finishing it
The other mode was Extraction if I remember correctly where you just keep saving people over and over again. Haven't tried that Hunted mode which is basically PVP where everyone is for themselves.
