I absolutely adored Dishonoreds art style it's just unique and looks so beautiful to me but as was said bevore its subjective, i can understand how someone who is into realistic art styles doesnt like it, on the other hand those art styles mostly look boring bland and uninspired to me like the recent Thief for example it looks beautiful on the surface yes but also very boring and bland.

He's working on it (D2) right now:

These are amazing, love the style.
I wonder if the sequel will have some of those supernatural monstrosities. Putting them in such a stealth context would be interesting for a change in my opinion, and would add some horror-ish atmosphere that never hurts (something akin to Amnesia's beasts).
Anyway, whatever they decide to do, I want it Razz

I think we discussed possible sequel back then? Corvo's story and D1 is finished, and it only make sense to build continuation of the story around Outsider and his secrets, his knowledge. It was kinda hinted in the original game - if you did read the journals you would know that Sokolov and some other people tried to pursue Outsider and his origins, they traveled a lot, searching for little pieces of knowledge and clues. D2 still could be some local story as it was with Corvo but in my opinion they should put more emphasis on some core plot with Outsider, like each game would open more and more info on this (but, unlike with tv shows, you can't really drag it through bunch of episodes aka games, it does not really work well in vidya). Otherwise another IP could turn into bunch of copy&pasted game with the same boring shit over and over again.

I'm not sure what do you mean by mosntrocities? Some of these art pieces are not related to D2. In nay way I'm having hard time to imagine them in the more or less "realistic" and "grounded' setting of Dishonored.

I'm open to anything really, as I completely trust these developers Smile
I mentioned the supernatural aspects because I imagined the Pandyssian Continent and its supposedly scary mysteries which could work as a new intriguing setting. Could also be open world-friendly, another good incentive in my opinion.

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

There was a news last year that Arkane switched from Unreal Engine to Cryengine for their next game (which could also mean Prey 2), there was no mention of ID tech.

Seriously, did they use the same character's model assets since Doom3? Because they are pretty much the same bulky 2-legged things I hated so much in D3. It was pretty much the only thing I didn't like in gfx back then.

Deja vu.

Looks fine? Let's ignore for a second the terrible low-poly models (not the engine's fault). Look at that terrible crude lighting; exactly the same as Quake 4. Horrible lighting model they use also exhibits the usual id Tech aliasing that makes your eyes hurt. Seriously, even Durr of Duty looks better. What a joke has id become over the last decade.

I agree. And since I always like to speak about consoles, I think this game looks about right for a ps360 game but no way for a pcps4one game !

Huh? Now you are talking out of your behind just for the sake of your argument. Ronhrin, time to let go of this one!

Game looks bad even for a second generation (ca.2007) 360 game. Any Unreal Engine 3 game, even the early ones, present a much more natural lighting as well as much better models and geometry. The Halo games. RDR and GTA5. Even Alan Wake with its console oriented redesign looks much better. Far Cry games (even Far Cry 1). CryEngine. FrostBite games.
In fact it takes more effort to think of a game that looks worse than this from a technical standpoint.

Huh ? That's what I had been saying. The game doesn't look any special, I think you understood I said it was a beauty for me as a ps360 game but it s not.

I had been already posting about these when the latest trailer came out in the console section and headshot was drooling over it when I was not... It s not something I discovered today...

Apparently, there is an insider with information about the project that hasn’t been made public and he shared them with NowGamer recently. To start with, we have had an understanding that Arkane Studio is going to be at the helm of the series, but we didn’t know which studio of theirs would (or, is) handling the upcoming game. If the source is to be believed, it is Arkane Lyon Studio that is handling the development.

Furthermore, he claims that the people who are heading the development process are Harvey Smith, the co-creative director of the game along with Raphael Colontonio who also headed the previous game in the series.

That being said, the source claimed that Corvo, the old protagonist from the original game might be replaced with a new one in Dishonored 2: The Darkness of Tyvia. The replacement is going to be Emily Kaldwin, the child you protected in the first game.

This, he said, is also an evidence that the game is going to be set a couple of years after the events of the preceding title.
