What about performance?
Does it run better than demo?

well ive been playing this for the last coupla hours. Its an ok game great atmosphere, fun shootouts. But thats about the depth of the whole game. If you were expecting a half life 2 killer this most certainly isnt it. Its not as rounded story wise as half life 2, and it feels very very linear when u play it. Kinda like DOOM3. You are in building corridors most of the time. The graphics look good. The lighting is what bogs this engine down but when u have everything bumped up with soft shadows and max textures it does look real nice. I WOuldnt bother trying to do that unless u have a 7800 and 2gb of mem. And even if u do expect some hitching. Ive been playing this on a x2 4200 7800GTX 2gb ocz and it hitches in places still (yes i defragged) i'D GIVE IT 8/10 SO FAR.

I feel i must thank the developers for not making this game just for people with money to waste on good hardware.
the wy ppl were talking when they had the demo, it sounded like u needed a very up to date machine
i for one have a family, a life, and cant afford to upgrade my system, but this seems to run well on my low end s***. sure it may not look uber, but who cares. my motto has always been that gfx have NEVER made a good game. look at b&w2 for instance. they updated the gfx, and forgot about gameplay.
i shall be buying this, no doubt. great atmosphere, great game, so far

Every game out right now has worked with daemon tools, I don't even have alcohol installed.
Pretty sure this one will work aswell.

It does.
SR7.Stop and Daemon Tools -> works
Anti-Blaxx 1.16 and Daemon Tools -> works
Anti-Blaxx1.17 and Daemon Tools -> works

Ok, after three hours of playing this game (to really give it a shot), I can truly say that this isn't for me (as I expected after playing through the demo). To me, this game lacks in all categories it sets out to be good in. It is sort of like the "jack of all trades" but "master of none". For instance, in regards of being a shooter, it lacks in terms of realism and believability (obviously, to me) - I feel "health packs" and "countless droves of ammo", and mindless shooting in rooms full of enemies that end up there for some silly reason. Which brings me to the story, the story is poor, to say the least - I don't understand what the recent years fascination with children and supposedly "frightful" atmosphere. When I see a little girl walking around giggling, I think of kindergarden, and whatnot - if she starts to tear people apart into bits and pieces, I get disillusioned (of the little atmosphere I thought was), and start to look at this as another episode of "Happy Tree Friends", which is humorous and... bizarre, at best.
Also, the "main plot" with the super-hero, "Amazing reflexes" main character really doesn't get through to me as interesting. The fact that they've used a lot of other games to stitch this one together makes it feel as though they had none of their own, so they had to borrow from Far Cry, Half-Life 2, Doom3, and Max Payne.
In the graphics department, the game is sweet, but has the plasticity of Doom3, and all engines Carmack has done since Quake3.
Physics try to be HL-2, but fails. And the massive amount of gore and damage was done by SoF2...
To me, the engine, the weapons, the sound (which is good) isn't really what makes F.E.A.R uninteresting to me in the end though. It's the story, and the way the atmosphere reeks of Hollywood B-Movie. Had they emphasised suspension and made this game a little more like eg. AvP, this game may actually have been able to convince me.
It's actually quite funny, Fahrenheit, a game with less technological engine, less graphics, less physics, less realistic models, less diverse music, and less of all things that appeal to the eyes and ears - is a whole dimension better than what F.E.A.R is.
Yes, yes I'm back.
Somewhat.

Haven't played long but I am liking this game. It looks good, it plays well. Sounds are really good. No complaints, will return with some pics and some more impressions after playing a little bit more.

Yes, there is a "test settings" thing but it is a different benchmark than the demo.
