Sad

My first cat dissapeared after 17 years (it was already grown 2-3 years old when we got it), it was getting kinda slow but I don't think it was sick. Never know what happened to him Sad But im also very happy I didn't have to find him dead somewhere.

Got 4 young cats now and really worried that they are gonna get hurt. At least we live far away from the main road. There are some foxes and mooses lurking around tho... yeah, I live in the woods

I got my last one after a ~2 year break since the last one, that died with cat leukemia.
You'll be alright after a while and with a new cat/dog friend Smile

great to hear they are living it up in the countryside, if you see any types of lumps be sure to check em out fast as all hell :/ turns out cancer is actually quite common in the female cat population

my cat was actually a mix wildcat and norwegian forest cat ?? haha (norsk skogskatt) so she has tiny fur tuft's on her ears

I'm with you, mate.

One of my cats had FUS and his urinary system got worse and worse we fought with it for half a year but after two surgeries there was nothing else we could do. The little furry fucker just didn't want to get better.

To this very day I feel like we let him down.

Fuck...

*hugs*

Aw I'm so sorry to hear that Sad Stay strong bud, losing our beloved furry friends is absolutely terrible, no words can help you cope with the grief at the moment. I send you a virtual hug...
My first and only cat died from kidney failure two years ago and even if I was prepared (she was almost 19) it still was a great shock for me. I've never had the courage and the possibility to adopt another pet. Don't do like me, you will regret it :<
Only time will be able to heal this wound, but all the great memories will live in your head forever and it will be a pleasant sensation, trust me.

It really does hurt like a bitch. Almost 2 months ago I had to euthanize my 14 yr old dog, still hurts a lot, yeah, life moves on, sadly.. And yeah, like everybody says, even if you think you're prepared, you're really not..

That's terrible man Sad

Had a cat and a dog go this way. It fucking hit me like a truck. The cat I tried to perform cpr on, died on my hands, and the last thing I did to my dog was to carry him outside just so he could take a last fuck-you-god piss. I cried like a little bitch for a week Sad

Sorry to here that. Lost my 16 year old persian in April, the first pet i have ever lost, and it is truly horrible for a few weeks/months depending how strong you are (weak here bro).

Hope you're good soon and get yourself another furry friend as soon as possible. Certainly helped me Smile

It was for the best. You could have watched her die a bit later, in pain and agony, or peacefully fall asleep and not wake up. My grandfather's dog lived to the ripe age of ~18 before he had to be put down. Just one day lost all his strenght, could barely lift his head...and to think a week earlier he managed to impregnate the neighbours dog Very Happy. Anyway, he could have probably gone a month or so more, but only under intensive care. He would not walk, eat or even poop by himself (no, seriously).
I know it seems terrible, but in the end you did the right thing. Just remember to keep on doing it and adopt a stray as soon as you're able Smile
