Ok, since I've never done this before, this might seem like a dumb question to you people, but..
I have a Pioneer 7.1 reciever that has a bunch of HDMI inputs and one output.
I also have a projector but only two HDMI inputs, so I've always had my PC and 360 (or PS3 now and then) hooked up to it.
Now I have a Wii U, and an Xbone coming next week. So, what I'm wondering is, the reciever works as a HDMI switch for these deveices, no?
I don't have a TV in the living room, only the projector (have a TV in the bedroom instead).
So what I want to do is hook up my PC, the X1 and the Wii U to the reciever, and then the output to the projector (since the projector is mounted in the ceiling above the couch), and then switch between sources with the reciever. Isn't this what it's supposed to be used for?  I already have a long HDMI cable that I'm planning on running from the reciever to the projector, so then its just hooking up the consoles to the reciever with short ones

Yes, that is the whole point of multiple HDMI inputs and one output.  You should be able to switch inputs with the remote. Sometimes problems arise if you need to split the audio from the HDMI in due to incompatibility with the receiver, but probably fine here.
BTW, where's your winter hat?

I've got much the same setup SiN. Bluray (never used the PS3 for blurays and probably won't use PS4 for it either), PS4, HTPC and Wii on HDMI1-4 on the receiver, TV on the HDMI out (which has ARC too). Receiver is the central piece of it all this way, for you the HDMI out would just be the projector. No issues with audio, ever. Just sometimes the Nvidia driver on my HTPC gets confused if it's been on for a while and I've switched to TV, PS4 a bunch of times; image'll stay black then, but a reboot fixes that

Thought as much, but just wanted to make sure before I went ahead an rearranged all the units and cables Thanks!
And sorry, fixed that now

Nice, and thanks for the info I've always had my consoles on my desk next to my PC, but the reciever is on the other side of the room, so gonna switch things around now
