Just put my BenQ XL2420T for sale so I can buy this: http://www.overclockmonitor.com/qnix-qx2710-led-evolution-2-oc-m-gsy.html

Anyone else got it? Or something similiar?

1440p+IPS+High refresh rate == WIN?

I can't wait for this shit, someone needs to buy my XL2420T asap! Very Happy

It's Korean not Chinese.

And yeah I have that exact monitor, Matte not Glossy though.

Just be aware that if you overclock it to 120hz you will most certainly get some color/image degradation. For example if I put mine in 120hz mode and have a blank blue image it is very noticably darker on the right side than the left.
Many people can't even OC them to 120hz without other artifacts either, like strange lines etc. I've heard of a few people who claim they can OC without any change in the colors or uniformity but I am doubtful of their claims.

Most people run them in 96hz since it doesn't put a strain on the monitor components (they are really running at their limits when you OC to 120hz, which might reduce monitor life) and provides minimal to no change in colors or uniformity.

You can check our the 120hz forum http://111.120hz.net/forumdisplay.php?1-Monitors if you want more than my tiny bit of information, including information about how to safely overclock and color profiles.

Edited the title, korean, chinese, all the same! Very Happy

I wonder how big the actual difference is going from 120Hz down to 96Hz? Going down from 120Hz to 60Hz is bloody awful but maybe 96Hz isn't that bad?

I'm opting for the Glossy version as it shows slightly better black colors if I'm not totaly mistaken, my current monitor is matte which is great really, especially if there is any sort of light in the background.

To me it doesn't matter since I can't get 120 reliable fps in most games either way, but in in windows it is somewhat noticable I guess. It feels way different going from 60->96hz compared to 96->120hz though in my opinion, so you will still get something out of it.

Now I also don't know the return or warranty policy at the place you shop at, it might include free returns where you can simply get the monitor replaced if you can't run it at 120hz.

By the way, if you expect something totally smooth without ghosting you would probably need to go with the 144hz Lightboost TN monitors, since even 120hz isn't enough to eliminate mouse ghosting in windows for example.

1440p is pretty great, the glorious pixel density almost gives you a bit of antialiasing without even having it turned on, so only using SMAA is enough to make it look great in most places.

Also, about the glossy, just make sure you have your monitors back facing any window you have in the room, if you have it tilted at an angle to the window you will get horrible reflections that make it impossible to play during daylight. The QNIX matte coating is one of the best ones there is as well, compared to awful ones like say DELL where it looks like a coat of dirt when you pull up a white background.

Yeah I got my current one with 120Hz+Lightboots on and it is pretty damn good.

Not sure I want to ruin the IPS colors with Lightboost though, will see I guess but if the picture quality is as good as they say, I think I can make the compromise of simply running with whatever refresh rate it runs at.

Comparing 60Hz to 120Hz on desktop is like day and night, got my TV as second monitor and I die a little inside everytime I have to move my mouse inside it Very Happy
So jerky...

So yeah, I'm not expecting it to be as good as this BenQ is when it comes to moving stuff but 1440p combined with IPS and the possibility of high refresh rate = I think I can compromise some of that fluidity/smoothness for that insane color quality.

And I currently got reflective tints on all my windows + pretty dark curtains so sunlight isn't that much of an issue, hence why I'm also going towards the Glossy version.

Just got offered 250€+shippings for my BenQ, was asking 280€+ship... TEMPTING!

Most of those korean panels needs some serious calibration to achieve "insane color quality", still better than TN tho. Also have you thinked about it, that 1440p also has 80% of more pixels to push than 1080p, your 660Ti is going to have hard time with 120hz 1440p screen. Other than that, its gonna be nice upgrade over TN panel. Have you considered overlord tempest OC monitor? That is gonna support upcoming G-SYNC chip aswell, gonna be sweet! (getting one myself).

Only games I play are WoW on AT and CSGO, hardly an issue

Ohmygod.

No dead/stuck pixels, 120Hz was a wee bit too much in CSGO atleast, occasional flickers, dropped down to 110Hz and works like a charm.

AND DEM COLORS, OHMYGOD

Eyegasm.

I was expecting the standard 5 dead pixels and shit like 90Hz or something but this is just over the top compared to that.

Only issue is backlight bleed at the bottom which is easily fixed with some tape apparently.

Did you manage to fix the back light bleed?

I am thinking about ordering one of these and I'm wondering if it will be easy to fix if I get one with back light bleed.

Only took the front bezel off yesterday to remove the tempered glass from the monitor, which is still Gloss even without it even though everyone has said that it is matte under the tempered glass O_o
Picture got slightly clearer and less dark with the removal of the useless tempered glass in front of it.

And honestly? I don't even notice the bleeding unless I turn my screen black, never see it in normal use really.

Forgot to buy some tape today when heading home, maybe on thursday or something.

Few pics of what I did: http://www.overclock.net/t/1384767/official-the-korean-pls-monitor-club-qnix-x-star/10640#post_21351493

With a little bit of tweaking I'm now running 120Hz without any hickups.

If you don't have a screensaver with like a 1 minute timer you risk putting in burn-in on the monitor

I used to have that previously on automatic settings with CRU, saw little burnin even after a short while if my browser was upfront, always goes away when my monitor is turned off for a bit when I leave the house.
But now I don't even see that slight burnin with the tweaked/optimized settings for the custom resolution, before this I wasn't even able to do 120Hz.

I got mine today, damn this thing is huge coming from my old 21 inch, I keep losing track of my mouse because its so big

I can only imagine, even going from 24" to 27" was a pretty big upgrade for me heh

So how is it? Overclocked? Backlight bleed? Dead pixels? Burn-in?
