Bioware always have comically bad black and white morality in their games. Avellone injected some grey in TSL, but it still had its fair share of laughable decisions.

That's because there's no place for grey areas in Star Wars. Only heroically good, or comically bad.

Or just Bioware's standard approach to morality.

Anyone know any decent fix to game crash during flight cutscenes? Not really a crash just as an alt + tab just that i can't get it up again and need to exit the game.

The minimise issue happens to a lot of people, but the "unable to get back" doesn't :\ That one is new to me, I've had the "game minimises during FMV" (which is what's happening to you Kenny, the game plays an FMV during ship travel) but always works fine when clicking the window in the taskbar. Sorry bud, I don't have a solution Neutral

It's because the game tries to change the screen resolution from whatever you have it normally running at to 640x480 to play the movies (the native Xbox1 res they were made for). Modern systems tend not to appreciate the way it does the switch, and it seems like it is hard coded. I remember trying to re-encode all the BIKs at a higher res to try and get around it, but it still continued to do the res change anyway. The only real way around it is to disable movies in the options. Not ideal if you have never played it before. Either that or run the whole game in 640x480. Might as well get the iPhone version if you are going to do that.

Well in my experience you still got to see the videos, just click the icon in the taskbar and the game maximised again and played the videos. The only new thing is not knowing why you can't restore the game when it minimises. Everything ran absolutely fine for me in Win7-x64 on my 570s. Though I have a hazy memory of "Framebuffer Effects" being problematic in KoTOR2 .. but I can't put my finger on what it was, sorry.

~edit~

How good is your setup? Couldn't you run VirtualBox/VMWare and install Windows XP? It'll be a better experience than XP Mode in Win7 since you'll have accelerated rendering from your existing GPU rather than that emulated piece of crap SiS/S3 Trio thing Laughing

No no, I don't mean "XP compatibility mode" in the EXE, I mean.. Windows 7 installed virtualmachine called "XP Mode" - still, it's all good if it's working now! Very Happy

Can clearly see that not everything was planned before the big twist. The way Bastilla reacted when you first rescued her, made it look genuinely as she didn't know who you were, which led me to believe the twist was something they came up with later.

I'm just saying the twist might have come later in the development than the dialogue when you rescue Bastila.

but think about it what is a lone frigate doing near a Sith-occupied planet?

Bastila used battle premonition; they would escape in a pod leaving the main character behind to get blown with the frigate while she waits as a slave on the planet below before it gets glassed by Malak

Jedis really are incompetent

They have been updating this game these last few months, at least the steam version. Main addition is the support for widescreen and very high resolutions. Also Steamworks support.

I already bought it for 3 euros and subscribed to some mods, the important one being TSLRC and started a new game, binged for about 5 hours, awesome!

EDIT: Talking about KOTOR 2, not the first one. You can get widescreen with unofficial mods in the first one, though.

Playing through KOTOR 2 again as a light sided dark force power user. Loving it still after like 5 playthroughs.

I like this illustration of force alignment, its cool how it changes as you play.

Disney's got to do something with the KOTOR name at some point. If not KOTOR, then make a new Star Wars game in a similar style with modern graphics and all that. Best Star Wars games by far.

All we can do is wait till the multi-year licensing agreement between Disney and EA ends, and someone awfully rich and talented, who values gamers more than anything else, steps over, buys everything, and gives us a KOTOR 3 designed for an adult audience which doesn't involve streamlined potato arr pee gee mechanics, interstellar bestiality, aggressive DLC policy, naif onlineties and so on. The odds are not looking particularly good, but never say never!

Have KOTOR 2 installed since that widescreen Steam patch came out a few months ago.
Want to replay it some time with the Restoration mod. But no time for such a huge game. Crying or Very sad

I'm telling all you closet homos, get KOTOR 2 on Steam, go in the Workshop and get the TSLRCM mod and any aesthetic mods/retextures you like and fucking go for it! Screw that M4-78 mod though.

Widescreen resolutions up to 4K and 5K + Steam Workshop + Achievements + option to turn off the Speed effect + Mac/Linux support for the non-closet homos + gaypad support

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
