Is this the build up to the new doctor? Im not getting why we are seeing a few of the past ones.. enlighten me ive not followed it for a long time now.
This is the 50th Anniversary episode and it's about the "hidden" Doctor, the one revealed at the end of "The Name of the Doctor" at the end of Season 7. 11 (Matt Smith) and 10 (David Tennant) team up again. That's pretty much all we know right now
I dont understand I must be missing something, there was a big reveal of the new doctor and its the guy and it was peter capaldi right? I thought he was the next doctor we were seeing lol...
dont look shocked I just have not followed it for a while last thing I saw was the invasion of the daleks on earth, think that was a while ago now Not sure how this team up can be done regarding the new doctor, but I guess ur saying its just a one time special show release.
Oh shit... dude, you're missing a FUCKTON of stuff then. There hasn't been an invasion of Earth since "Stolen Earth" back in Season FIVE, over two years ago. It sounds to me like you've not even seen Matt Smith's tenure as the Doctor In that case we've probably spoiled a shit-load of info, haha! Go back, grab Season 5 again (because it rocks and because Turn Left!!!!!!!!) and then watch the specials (The Next Doctor, Planet of the Dead, The Waters of Mars and David Tennant's regeneration episode The End of Time)
.... then head on over to Season 6 which started Matt Smith's run as 11. Watch those two seasons, culminating with "The Name of the Doctor" which is the Season 7 finale. You've got TWO WEEKS before the 50th Anniversary Episode in which to watch 3 seasons. Hop to it! Do NOT watch the Anniversary Episode (or the upcoming Christmas Special where Matt Smith regenerates into Peter Capaldi) until you've at *least* seen Seasons 6 and 7.
lol its ok ive not taken in much info here I just remember seeing the bbc reveal of peter capaldi, then saw the trailer with the two doctors in and thought dafuq is going on
Second traziler is better than the first, both gave me funny feelings in my pee pee

Saner is not being serious. Unless its the subject of Santa!
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Paul Mcgann FTMFW! It's a shame we only saw him as part of the TV movie, because he's had a long and fan-loved career playing the 8th Doctor in the novel and radioplay industry. He recently said he was "gutted" about not being in the 50th Anniversary, but he was hiding the fact that he's the start of the webisode SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO AWESOME!!

so tenant is 11 now, matt smith is 12 and Eccleston is 10... so they just fucked everything up?
why couldn't he be the original doctor... 0... y'know before the count started...
I'm thinking the regenerations have been bumped, yes, but we'll have to wait and see - I don't think even Moffat is THAT crazy to mess with the Doctor "numbers" since the regeneration, but who knows? He did say that everyone is missing something huge, that we've miscounted the regenerations and we need to go back and check our DVDs again.
Quote:
“I think you should go back to your DVDs and count correctly this time," said Moffat, "there’s something you’ve all missed.”
Personally I'm REALLLLLLLY excited to finally see the Time War. Did you see Cass' reaction!? She HATED the Doctor just because he was a Time Lord! Amazing. I can't wait!
~edit~
Hahaha! Some of the biggest Doctor Who fan pages have been posting the video and talking about Mcgann's regeneration -- and the fallout from people crying about "spoilers" is HILARIOUS!

I did, some time ago, get a tip-off that the actor will appear in a minisode prologue to the 50th special, and that this little film would feature his regeneration into John Hurt’s form. The idea, I heard, was for this to drop sometime in early November, either on TV, in cinemas or on the BBC website. Or all of the above.
Also set your DVR for "An Adventure In Time and Space" which "focuses on the people who created the sci-fi show". It's 90 minutes long and on BBC2 in the UK on 21st November.

But he had a good run. Much longer than Eccleston but half of Tennant (both of who I really liked but damn Tennant was on for a VERY long run.. so many episodes). Smith was about right.. not too short and not too long..
Still.. we must move along now... its the way of the Doctor...
