I am enjoying it a lot so far. I can look past bad models, and my performance is fine. I might have a slighly beefier pc than most though.

It's interesting how many people are quick to latch onto the faults of this one as if the previous games were faultless, there were plenty of spawning npc's and wares in that game to keep the economy alive if you destroyed too much.

And your NPC controlled ships would run around in circles if they got into the geometry of some bigger station or amongst other npc's because noone could plan more than one frame ahead.

Yeah. Performance is utterly ridiculous. The gameplay itself shows a bit of promise, but right now, it's really hard to get into. Which is a laugh considering that's exactly what they tried to achieve with this one.

Should keep me down for a while at least.

Shockingly bad performance? Not very shocking if you're used to Egosoft's previous games, which had terrible performance for the first year (and quite often for an entire GENERATION of PC hardware) - so yeah, this may well be a magnificent space sim but I'm going to wait until it's had a year or two worth of patches -- and I'm running a pair of 7970s. No wait, three 7970s. That should be enough for 1080p60 Very Happy

So does the 3DM release.

Getting more into it, the "story" so far is very drudgey, flying around, hiring faceless NPCs for a freighter that the game just gave me for shits and giggles. It will stand of fall on the industry and building mechanics anyway, so that remains to be seen. What I've managed to see so far is an average European-developed space sim with pretty visuals. Managed to seem bigger than the previous games though, having a seamless universe REALLY helped a lot on that front.

Performance seems very situational. As usual, it seems the biggest problem is the overabundance of flair and spectacle. Lots of AI shuttles flying around, police scanning ships, etc. Looks pretty, but I bet it eats up a lot of CPU power.

IIRC, civilian ships were a problem in Reunion, there were a ton of them and they killed the FPS there too. Modders to the rescue!

I turned the game off as soon as I saw 13 fps after the initial cutscene. While my PC specs aren't the best (i5 2500k @ 4 GHz, GeForce 560ti, 8GB RAM) I expected better than this =x

Yup they did, big time!

Myself and Murgo's keys down the drain as I'm certainly not waiting till Monday (excuses they are giving now) to get them.

Refund initiated.
