the lone ranger.
know what? it was not. fuckin'. bad.
i enjoyed it, i really did... yet another reason to completely ignore so called 'professional reviewers'.
i enjoyed depps performance, i enjoyed hammers performance, i enjoyed a lot of the humour, i enjoyed the action sequences, i enjoyed the story.
what i DIDNT enjoy, was the story coming to a fucking dead stop every time we go back to tonto telling the story to the kid. maybe ONCE i thought it handled OK, where the kid interjects to ask a question, but what it brings does in no way match what it takes away by sucking me right out of the story.
the other bit that it thought was handled badly, was the ending... basically... believe it or not... the ENTIRE train sequence. the bulk of the film was kinda adventure mixed with a bit of comic relief, but the train bit at the end i felt was really crying out for the film to put on its big-boy pants and play that bit straight... go for badass action, rather than 'lol' adventure. I was very disappointed at the usage of the famous lone ranger 'theme'... it was 'cute' at the start of the chase, i even LIKED how the bullet hits were in tune with the music, but it went on entirely too long, and it ended up ruining the scene for me by making the atmosphere feel too 'light'.... and given that it was one of the most important scenes of the movie, it really dented my overall enjoyment of the film, even though it was right at the end; so id say its one of the films biggest failings for me.
also thought some of the characters acted a bit stupid during the scene... its a pity they played the captain as a clown, they could have made him a bit more of a threat during the final train scene, which ties in with my wish they'd made the final chase 'badass' rather than goofy.
so yeah... i was somewhat pleasantly surprised. a flawed film, but a fun adventure film
7/10, but could have easily been higher if they hadn't fucked up the final chase, and gotten rid of the storytelling narrative mechanism. also the horse shit sequence i felt was kinda silly, but the horse cracked me up, his scenes were epic.

The Internship 5/10 not bad, light humor, same actors in every movie. well the wife laugh a few times, i did smile in 3 or 4 scenes, really forgetible.
Best scene was in the strip club , at least for me.

Childish, cliche, not really funny at all, and a huge damn Google advertise.

Insidious: What the f / 10.
Watched the whole movie, not a single scare, nice pictures, but I want my 90 minutes back. WTF, such a lame "horror" movie. Hello, PLOT anyone?!
Drag me to Hell was 1.000.000 times better...

Pacific Rim rated by my mech-nostalgia 7/10, otherwise 3/10.
I used to read mech cartoons as a kid, I played every Mech Warrior-game there is, mechs just appeal to me. Hence I cannot judge this movie properly - give my review a pass unless you too are a fan.
To me seeing man-driven mechs, in a "Top Gun"-type of movie is just nostalgia-boner, I know it is cheesy, but it's reminding me of the days when extra cheese on the hamburgers was a good thing, when people didn't have a care in the world (Big Macs came in styrofoam packages). Then there were mech cartoons, both animated and drawn. I would have dreams about these things, and driving them as a kid. And here there's a movie with them in it. Oh joy.
First of all, I think the story is completely cliché, over the top, american, and just perfect for the setting. I think the acting and the characters are perfectly cheezy and the fight scenes are ridiculously overdone and awesome. I switched off my brain for 2+ hours and enjoyed every minute of it to the point where I didn't even start my soda or popcorn. GF was bored out of her skull, but I kept talking about how much I enjoyed mechs as a kid.
This is in no shape or form a good movie. I know that, I get that. But to me it is. And fuck you.
Yes, yes I'm back.
Somewhat.

Only difference here is that my wife loved it too, awesome nostalgia cheesy awesomeness that harkens back to growing up and loving mecha and Japanese rubber-suit monsters.

The Purge 4/10
Nail your eyes open and perform home made circumcisions, it will be more fun than this pile of shite.
The Hangover Part 3.
NA/10
Turned it off after 20 minutes, the Giraffe bit was funny.

The Lone Ranger: 8/10.
Having read mixed reviews i wasen't too sure about this movie. Decided to Watch it, and was pleasantly surprised. Once Again Johnny Depp delivers. Good story, some pretty funny moments, and a propper ending. The movie is almost 2½ hour, but at no point was i hoping it would be over soon. Highly recomended!

Pacific Rim - 8/10 Enjoyed it a lot. This is the difference between master craftsman del Toro and hack Bay. Doesn't take itself seriously, and still manages to convey more importance and character depth than three entire craps by retarding Bay.
The Lone Ranger - 7/10 Hmmm, not sure where all the negativity came from. It was on par with the Pirate films. I like Verbinski's way of crafting a story. Grandiose and minuscule at the same time. Tells a larger backdrop story at great detail, while superficially only zooms on a certain single storyline. It was similar with Pirates and East India Company. I loved that it was so indulgently long and could show a larger view of this world. The fall here, ultimately, was that the main character, the Lone Ranger, was ultimately a stiff character and uninteresting, a problem that did not exist in Pirates.

Can't really rate but Pacific Rim, for the second time, enjoyed it again, would watch again sometimes.
The Lone Ranger, well this one was fun, jokes there and there, plenty of actions and moments of wat/lol/dafuq, making the movie worthwhile, both me and gf loved it.
Just saw Elysium, well got some Citadel feels there and there, and Jodie

The Internship - 4/10
Skippable. I would give a 5/10 but it is a Google promo movie.
Is there a good quality Lone Ranger that doesn't take 20 GB to download?

Sharknado - ... I just have no words. I was mildly drunk and it was a trash night. But even for a trash this movie is so bad it's just ... no words

What a great movie. Fantastic acting both by Jackman and Gyllenhaal, who I didn't really like in anything (apart from Zodiac maybe).

Pacific Rim - 7/10
Just like in The Hobbit I couldn't help but watch it with a dumb smile on my face most of the time.
Jax was... shaved jax, pretty much and I can't decide if his role in here was played just to close with his SoA role or if he made it seem that way, due to the lack of acting chops.
Idris was great, liked the cute jap chick too and was surprised to see dirt diver on a big production like this, and not relegated to a distant background.
There were some unbelievably stupid lines here and there and the "komedy" wasn't that good but IMO the mech battles made it worth my time.
The Conjuring - 8/10
Very solid horror movie, nice acting, photography, directing, well... nice everything.

Kick Ass 2 - 6.5/10
DAAAAAAAAAAAMN, it's a lot darker than the first, and KA1 featured a man being burned alive.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

Lockout - 7,5/10
A pleasant surprise, one of those action movies that seem to come straight out of the 80s, direct and without overthinking things, always equipped with one-liners and silliness.
All the actors were adequate, especially Joseph Gilgun who was insanely believable, also, sci-fi! Just remember to turn your brain off before watching this and everything will be fine.
