anyhow they are not taking accounts already opened for those games they host. beta apparently they are wanting users to make new accounts.
all i get is this, did they remove the register part maybe?

I followed the link, logged in and then they ask you for your DxDiag file, when you upload it and click the NDA thing you are signed up for beta.
*Edit*: To make it clear: I did not make a new account, used my years old account to sign up

i logged in with my funcom account where I have other funcom games on the link provided it just takes me to "play anarchy online for free" press GO
even making new account for that inside my main account does not do a thing for beta..
no idea oh well big headache to work this out, also no info pertaining to it either about from what I can see. |

It asked me if i wanted to create a free account for anarchy inside my funcom main account, so i made that one, reclicked the link and the beta signup page showed asking me for my dxdiag.

yeah its what i did sauss but clicking the link account did not let send me to the dxdiag part 
Edit: ok that page finally showed up in the account section I have no idea why it was not initially with the anarchy account already attained..
anyhow done, wait time but this has been up since 4th or so of mnth so maybe we wont get in first waves |

Reactivated my old account to see what changed. A bunch of us that used to "work" on Asheron's Call used to hang out there. I haven't played for around 5 years though. haha

We were volunteers. Put in about 8 hours a week if I remember right. MS and Turbine got spooked when other games' volunteers decided to sued saying they should be paid. So they let us all go. We all still played for free for a couple of years until MS gave it all back to turbine.

ive never come across AC having volunteers.. what is it you were doing? And I was in from first beta of AC, I just dont recall anything about content or any testing with "volunteers"

All the Advocates were volunteers. We started while it was still in beta and last a year or two. Can't remember exactly when they got rid of us. They switched to in house support in Redmond at that point. But our accounts were still flagged as free for a long time.

Oh advovates were the people that just helped players with where to go what to do etc.. ok the way you said "work" etc seemed a little missleading to be honest..
you were in effect a reduced in rank GM by today's standards..
I remember now it lasted not long overall. I bet you even had a glowing shield

ye be glad you didnt, i also skipped a community manager position for that dragon crafting mmo from this italian company during that period of my life. But passed on it as i didnt want to move, 6 months later the game was pretty much dead and all where let go, and support people are the first to get the booth.

Not misleading at all. We had schedules and bosses. We weren't paid employees but we still had obligations. But yeah, that's basically what we did. Helped new players mostly. And yes, we all had an aegis but they were pretty much just so we could be identified easily while on duty.
After they canceled the advocate program I had a couple of phone interviews to work at MS on the paid support team but I didn't want to move across the country at the time. Could have been a step into the industry but, hell, the games industry is even more volatile than what I do now so it was probably for the best I didn't take it. |
you were never annoyed by kwip were you gee he used to come up with corkers to annoy the helpers in his game story posts... |

wow lol.. they announced thet graphic thing way back even before age of conan was released.. so its finnaly happening huh.
Some great memories i have of anarchy online, and with some updated graphics ill be sure to give this a whirl, would assume theres be a decent influx of newbies after the engine update hits live.
always been my issue picking this up again, just old settled players and the outdated graphics.
the video looks great, models quite a bit better then I remember them too; but its been a while

Just logged the only old account i could remember, only level 22. But had like 30k IP's(cant remember if that was alot though lol) i get some rewarded for being veteran or did I just not spent them

It looks exactly as I remember it though. Clunky controls and dated graphics. I'll play around with it some more when I have more time.
guess that is when they gave it back to turbine?
