So i got a question,
I got a passive pickups electric guitar and i wanna buy an active one to use on my bridge position
I know a passive and an active pickup cannot work in the same time because the battery is connected to the jack input and activates the battery when connected
And the question is : if i use the bridge position (only bridge pickup is working...and yes it has a different volume knob , and i don't care if they don't work in the same time) will that pickup work ? If i put that active on the bridge the passive one is useless forever ?
Dunno if i explained right but ask me if is the case (assuming anyone knows wtf i'm talking about )
PS: i got a 3 way switch: Bridge only , Bridge + Neck , Neck only
LE. I don't care witch one is better passive vs active ones i just wanna know how that will work
Personally, just go all active and you won't be disappointed. EMG 81-85 combo is so drooly sexy if you're into metal.
Well i go for 81-85 combo but i'll buy first the 81 one till i'll have the money for an another EMG...and i was curious about my other pickup what will happen with it
I just wanted to know how that will work , hopefully to avoid any complications and all that shit till my 85' one
And after i've read that guy's answer should work just fine
If i'll buy a 81-85 pack i'll have two volume knobs and two tone controls ... and i only have three knobs on my guitar (i don't really want to drill a hole in it) can i use an active pickup without wiring the neck tone knob ? And if it's possible how that will affect my neck pickup ?
