Hmm, Mexican "papa" dad comes home to speak with his son and they speak in English and a lot of stereotype "say it in spanish first to make it more authentic then say the exact same thing in English for the hurrdurrs".
Husband and wife lay in bed and speak English. Sounds legit.

Its so common... typical American way "they won't notice"
Same with German in American movies...
Anyways, the show isn't half bad, it will be fun to see how similar the script really is.
It couldn't be that bad, since you are picking only on irrelevant stuff after watching it
Dont worry when Apple do it at a keynote speech it will be innovative.

Saner is not being serious. Unless its the subject of Santa!

Seriously, how hard is for Americans to read?

Yes. If it wasn't good, I wouldn't care enough to bicker.
Good start indeed, I like this. Many people bashed Diane Kruger's acting, but I think she did a nice job at playing a detective with Asperger's. The Spanglish was a lil' bit too much at times, but it's more authentic that way, so it's ok.
I remember some of the early (British obviously) reviews of the original criticizing Saga, so if she is taking the same flak then I would say she is doing a good job.
Saga was awesome

i found the acting to be decent, but then again i ve mostly watched it after the weekly under the dome episodes, everything seems like a masterpiece after that
I heard the acting is really really bad... on purpose bad.
Actually, the acting of the main cast is very good. That scene in the latest episode with Cross (Kruger) and her boss on his truck talking about Cross's tragic past event was a great performance from Kruger, IMO. Several of the hispanic actors are doing a good job as well (though Bichir hasn't shown his best yet), and for once the spanish spoken by mexican characters is authentic (for the most part) contrary to most US tv shows today
- Problematic relationship between stepmother and daughter.
- Guy was fucking around with stepmother like a boss when wife was slowly dying/fighting death along with daughter
- Cop involves himself with a case witness (well, witness might be stretching it in this case)
- Cop loses wallet, is found by hateful daughter which uses it to torment mother
Mostly those, but they came so fast and thick in episodes 3 and 4 that it was just unbelievable.
The rest of the show still suffers from the female detective but I can live with that.

Yeah, the only thing that has bothered me in the whole show is what happened when detective Ruiz paid a visit to the ranch owner's wife, and most of your cliches are related to that so I agree.
About your last statement though, I don't see your problem with Cross's condition?
