Technically I believe it's accurate to say that the first game has been available for a while now, just that they decided to do a PC port of it before the sequel launches.
(Though yeah the demo will be out before the port is released if the above is accurate but most everyone has already seen the console version so I guess it doesn't matter much to the publisher or developer.)

Obviously it is for LoS1, how in the hell did you even get the idea that it can be demo for LoS2? Step up, it is 2013, it is perfectly normal to get 4 years old demos for ported on PC games now.

Well this says the demo is supposed to be released tomorrow. They cite the FB page as a source, but I can't access it, so perhaps someone else can confirm.
CVG, on the other hand reported it as today's release...
Not sure what to make of it.

"Download Demo" button is 1.Greyed out and 2.I click it and makes STEAM to FREEZE for a few seconds...but still NOT working
