My boyfriend just fixed up at 82 kawasaki GPZ 550. Got it for $500 and it didn't run. Now it does. Grabbed parts from online. A real test in patience , and problems waiting for those parts, he is a bit obsessive and wanted it up and running now.

He's still ironing out the kinks but he has taken it out a few drives. Got a gas leak on one and had to leave it and go get the truck to haul it back. But that is fixed now.

Bought a leather riding jacket yesterday. Old school like. I think it's hot. It was on sale but it was the end of the day and the sales guy was too tired to find out the original price so it gave it to us for $100.

But ya, He (and me) are looking forward to some longer summer drives up the Sea to Sky hwy. Follows the Ocean 1/2 way then up the Canyon toward Whistler. There are some real scenic drives in BC. and it so much cheaper for a Bike to get on the Ferry then a car. So Vancouver Island here were come.. This summer.

I've wanted to motorcycle my entire life, I actually plan on taking a 3 day course this summer to get my license finally.

They teach you everything you need to know, and then you just take a written test and get your license. Can't fucking wait for this.

Good luck and continue with it. I always hesitated a lot if I wanted it or not. When I saw the intial introduction lesson was only 15€, I knew immediately that I had to try it out. I was sold after 10 minutes of driving and bought a whole package of 20 lessons or so that day Razz

I hear leathers with kevlar pads on the knees is preferable.

Damn wiskers78, after looking at your 30 mph (48 kmh) slide I guess I was lucky to crash with 60 kmh on a car. I only had some bruises and my stomach hurt a little (those darn mirrors) for a week or so. Motorcycle was RIP though Sad

I don't use crash pucks, no. Main reason is that it looks ugly, and second of all, it doesn't prevent most damages, e.g. from full frontal crash (which I had Razz).

Really? I hear MOST falls are to the side of the bike (and the bike slides).

I'd imagine crash pucks would protect against that? No?
