Platfroms:PC/MAC
genre: Survivor Horror
release date: TBA

Quote:
If horror games revolve around how effectively they place the player into a state of feeling vulnerable, then Among The Sleep is certainly starting off strong on the concept level alone. After being tucked into your cot and left to the lullabies of the baby mobile overhead, you’ll then sneak out around the empty house in first person to the delight of the unknown horrors. Movement is mostly done by crawling but standing on your little legs for short periods of time is possible. Being so short means that climbing over obstacles is a must too.
The game doesn’t just take place in the confines of your house though, or at least that’s what it seems. Being so young, you’re susceptible to suggestion and your imagination will run wild. On this particular night many mystical happenings occur which force you to actually flee your home and enter a surreal world, though it won’t guarantee your safety. Is it a dream or reality? Luckily you’ll have Teddy to help protect you on your way back home.

Krillbite Studio have already picked up a couple of awards for the game and we can see why with the release of the first gameplay taken from the first level. It’s looking very good, and by that we mean it comes across as pretty creepy. We particularly like how the kid hides around corners and looks down while crawling at times; builds up the tension.
Though this is a “gameplay teaser”, we’re not entirely convinced that this is in-game footage, hopefully it is though. There’s no release date on the game as of yet but when it is ready for us it will be available on PC and Mac.

Yes. It was a shite movie - however, in this case I agree that it reminds abit of it and it might work better as a game than a movie Razz

Sounds interesting, definitely going to check it out. Thanks =)

~edit~

Urgh. It's not even due for release until "sometime next year" where "next year" is 2013.

I´m not sure what to think.

New concepts/ideas=cool

At the same time found the gameplay video pretty lame. A kid going down the stairs for some milk. Hopefully they throw in some puzzle elements based on you being a 2 year old. Wonder what main boss there will be? The lurking monster under the bed?

Just looked at the kick starter page.. Looks great, I'm really interested in this.

Who cares about play time if it's reasonably priced? I'd much rather have 4 hours of amazing atmosphere than 15 of repetition and mundanity... And yeah, I really enjoyed dear Esther.

And what the fuck is wrong with 4h? If it's well done I'd take that 4h rather than 20h of boring fest.

I don't know whats "wrong" with 4h,nothing per se i guess.I just think that it's somewhat too short for their first game (which they need 200k/15$ per copy via Kickstarter for).

actually a short game that means the devs are not biting off more than they can chew and ensuring the best chance for creating a very tight, well made game, is exactly what a 'first' game should be, no?

i mean when you have an armada of workers and a mega budget, THEN you can start laying down some epic play length titles, but 4 hours is about what id expect from a first project.

Specifically? It can be said that all first person games are made for oculus rift Smile

Yeah this guy. Two of my favorite games this gen are Flower and Journey, and they can be beaten in a single sitting.

I just tried out the public alpha... and I'm sold! Absolutely terrible performance on anything above 720p, it looks good and man... atmosphere you could cut with a knife! It was really fun (I damn near shat myself at one point Razz) and I can see this being a cult hit. Really enjoyable concept and "demo", I hope they hit their funding targets so they can concentrate on tidying the performance up a bit grinhurt
