Probably not that many in the long run. People are stupid and forget quickly.

You like to think, but the fact remains that this isn't..
So in other words, you are just searching for an excuse to justify another person their stupidity (or your own, depending on your view of this problem).

Finally we agree on something. This is not an mmo, but an threatening game model that can and most likely will become a reality for many game series we like in the future.
And as Inatan said, people forget quickly, so when this has all blown over, i'm sure people will buy and play this happily :/

I got 200+ hours in the dev beta, and about 40 hours into it since it was live.
Its really good. other than a handful of times the server was 'full' or 'busy' and I Couldn't log in..luckily the login issues haven't been as bad for me as some. there is some lag on updating my friends towns, but nothing gamebreaking..If his city view to me is 5-10 minutes behind what it really is, when looking at it passively in the distance, it doesn't really effect anything gamewise.
Look past the city size, its got all the complexity of SC4. the depth of overlays, data charts out the wazoo, problems to manage and balance out, challenges of size vs population happiness and all that is there.
If you play SC game for the micromanagement challenges of keeping people happy, traffic down, jobs high, taxes low, education high, crime at bay..etcetc.. as a gauge of how well you was doing..then its VERY good, complex, and challenging.
If you played SC for the city size, population, and growth speed as a gauge of how well you was doing..you may not like it. As if you play to fill a zone out as the challenge you will do that rather quickly.
But fill the small space it has quickly AND keep everyone happy, educated, crime free, fire free, everyone employed and happy about income and neighbors, and traffic flowing perfectly, is near impossible to do both.
I guess I'm saying if simcity was enjoyable to you because of "the devils in the details" gameplay it had..that part is back, and is as good as ever.

I know you can get pre orders refunded, I have. I know you can get rufunds on shite produts (games). I have. I have fought with EA before. I have told them I would open a case against them with my credit card, and they backed off. The second time they gave me the "we will ban your account" bullshit, and I laughhed at them, and while I was dealing with them I had my bank refund me the amount. They didn't ban me, and I told them to fuck off, and I got to play 2142 and the bf2 expansions for free. Fucking assholes think they can push people around, and sheeple take it, lol. Fuck these pricks, they cannot stop you from bringing up a case against receiving goods that don't work as they are suppose to. lol. Don't deal with EA, talk to your bank and tell them you have goods that do not work and they refuse to do anything about it, and you'd like to open a case against them.

Not giving polygon links... but you want just go over to that self entitled site and check it out
Code: | Publisher Electronic Arts has suspended some of its online marketing campaigns for SimCity in the wake of ongoing server issues, asking its affiliates to "please stop actively promoting the game" until further notice.
In an email sent this morning to affiliate partners, EA Origin says it has "deactivated all SimCity text links and creative and we ask you to please remove any copy promoting SimCity from your website for the time-being." The email, obtained by Polygon, is directed at affiliates of EA Origin's LinkShare program.
"To be clear we are continuing to payout commissions on all SimCity sales that are referred, however we are requesting that you please stop actively promoting the game," the email reads. "We will notify you as soon as the SimCity marketing campaigns have been resumed and our promotional links are once again live in the Linkshare interface. We apologize for any inconveniences that this may cause, and we thank you for your cooperation."
SimCity launched earlier this week and has struggled to meet player demand. Developer Maxis has deactivated certain gameplay features and says it will continue to roll out fixes to address "server instability" and player frustration."
Polygon has contacted Electronic Arts seeking comment and will update with any information the company provides. |

Yea, you can set a region to private and only those you invite will even know it exists.
