Ok, I just remembered a very old game I used to like, I mean it was ages ago.

It was a gangster-type of game, where the "world map" was kind of top-down, you drove around in a shitty car (or walked if you lost it).
You could rob houses and businesses.
Hire other criminals to join your gang, then train them in different areas (guns etc)
Buy and upgrade guns and cars.
Kidnap kids, steal electronic equipment etc. And those break-in missions were like minigames.
When cops came, a shootout started - side view and turn based, you could either move or shoot.

Anyone know what game I'm talking about?
Also, what newer games are like this game? I actually really like the simplicity of this game I'm trying to remember the name of, but of course I would like a more modern version of it..

Well, not quite THAT old Smile

More stuff I can remember:
- You could intimidate shop owners to pay you for protection. If you weren't well known enough they would kick you out, or pay you the protection.
- You could buy counterfeit money
- Buy fake IDs (atleast I think you could)

Ah, now I know! It was called Crime Fighter (which is ironic, since you played as the criminal).

Anyone played it? Know of any similar games? Smile

Holy fuck I played the fuck out of that game back then. Fucking Crime Fighter. It was amazingly fun Very Happy

The game is German btw and obviously was pretty popular over here. Would be considered Indie nowadays but back then it this was pretty common.

When talking about games in this genre. I remember a action game, top-down like described, and you had team mates where you went around killing aliens, humans (if i don't remember wrong) hives and whatnot. All real time. It's probably a less known game (typically) But i would LOVE to find it and play it again. It's a old game (somewhere in the 90's) which i only had the demo of from a magazine i subscribed to as a kid.

Oh wow, I remember I used to play it to death 10-or-something years ago. Never thought I'd see it mentioned again Surprised

It was meant for multiplayer, though, since it was far too easy to make money in single player. The multiplayer mode was tons of fun, though.
