Meh! Not only is there an IP/locale check on the BBC site, but also on the game installer itself. No Dr Who for me

Instructions for non-UK users:
1) Open Internet Explorer. Even if you use another browser, you have to do this in IE.
2) Tools > Internet Options
3) Select the Connections tab, then click LAN Settings at the very bottom of the window.
4) Check "Use a proxy server for your LAN", and enter a British proxy address in the address bar. Enter 80 in the port bar.
5) Click OK, close IE.
6) Install
7) When the installer completes, go back to LAN Settings, remove the proxy address, and uncheck the box.
I used Universal Extractor 1.6.1, another Inno Setup so just extract, open the folder and copy the game location where you want it and delete the rest, drag and drop basically.
(I use it quite often with various custom installers and other stuff.)
(Haven't tried playing the actual game yet though.)
Sadly that doesn't work for my JB. The extract works ok, but you can't run the game if you extract it like that ... says "Installation has been damaged or system hardware has been altered. Please reinstall the game"
Guess I'll have to try the IE trick.
-Edit-
Woo! Found a proxy IP (91.103.185.182) and it let me install the game. Thanks djaoni!
I don't know anything about it and I haven't heard anything about it but I started laughing when I read the description so I post it as it might be fun, unsure if it's freeware as such though come to think of it.
Mark Leung: Revenge of the Bitch is an RPG gone wrong, a fully playable parody inspired by Christianity, double rainbows, Kim Jong Il, flaming trolls and Final Fantasy, featuring characters and monsters that are bizarre hybrids of public figures and well-known characters.
EDIT: Not a bad game for a independent title, not quite the same class as certain other games like say Evochron, Minecraft, Din's Curse and such but quite funny and a interesting mix of genres and visual styles including FMV sequences.
Ah you're right it's also the name of a RTS game many years ago, yeah unfortunately this is just a FPS though it is free but incorporates various MMO like features including the option to subscribe for various bonuses and purchase other extras, unsure what sort of advantage that would give though, this beta might be worth a look though, response seems pretty OK so far though game balance is supposedly a bit off (As sort of expected.) and some complaints have been made about the sound and overall performance.
Square Enix launches ad-supported browser game portal

Square Enix is launching a new Web-based gaming portal that offers some of the company's back catalog for free. The "CoreOnline" service lets you play Hitman: Blood Money or Mini Ninjas by either watching advertisements between chunks of the games, or paying a fee to bypass them.
The CoreOnline site (via GI.biz) only boasts those two games so far, but promises others on the way like Tomb Raider Underworld and Gyromancer. Save data is also stored on the cloud, so you can pick up from a different computer or browser at any time.
This isn't the first time the publisher has experimented with cloud gaming. During the launch of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, the publisher included a free OnLive version of the game with every retail copy, leading to a scuffle with GameStop. It appears Square Enix is now more interested in pursuing its own platform, instead of partnering with the beleaguered streaming company.
"Square Enix is at the forefront of experimentation of new business and services models in the game industry," said Square CEO Yoichi Wada. "Through our CoreOnline technology service, users can access our content easily through the browser."
The driving model is actually good (and rather simulative as long as you disable the driving aids), so are the graphics; but obviously the pricing model/game modes/amount of contents isn't attractive for now. They add new stuff every week, so maybe in the future the package will get more interesting.
