I have Corsair 450W VX power supply, and I was reading that for Radeon HD 7850 you'd need a minimum of 500W PSU. But I don't have a DVD drive, or any 'extra' peripheral that is draining the power. So could I plug the new card in, without any major issues?

Indeed, one of the very best low power PSU's out there.
Especially if it is the seasonic branded V0/V1.

EDIT: Oh and make sure you get your 7850 with the Never Settle Bundle.
Even if you're not into gaming that much (traitor! Mad) you can still make a few € selling them.

Under load the GPU should use less than 141 watts. http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/charts/2012-vga-gpgpu/23-Power-Consumtion-Load,2981.html

That's based on the highest value there and it looks like it's a factory overclocked card.

Any good 450W is enough for a single GPU setup, my friend runs his 2500K at 5GHz and HD7950 at 1100/1400 with that exact same PSU I think.

620W is enough for my HD7950 Crossfire.

How old is your PSU? What CPU do you have?

Oh that sounds great. Very Happy

Well I think it's about 2 years old. Between 2 or 3 years. I have Athlon II X3 435, but I'd like to get some 4 core Phenom in the near future.

I suggest buying quality one fast, or else the PSU will be taking the GPU and its owner with it when it blows Very Happy

I had a chinese (Modecom?) 500W PSU for a long while, in the end you could get some static discharge when you put your hand on the case Very Happy

That's when I replaced it lol

NSRELOADED is for the 7900-series. Don't know what they offer for the 7800-series, probably 2-3 games. A 7950 isn't that expensive today and with the new drivers, overclockability etc. it's a safe bet.

EDIT: nvm, AMD's bundle only includes 2 games. Some brand offered 6 (!!!) of the latest AAA games for the 7900-series.

I'm gonna. But I just bought the 7850 and a new display so I'm pretty much broke. I might borrow something from work but I got only shittier PSUs now.

This is the one I saw:

http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/amd_never_reloaded_settle_bundle,1.html

So if anybody is into CF two 7900-series cards they get 6 (!!!) Triple-A titles (although Hitman was a Missman).

I was meaning the part where you missed the tab for the 7800 series at that page.

But I wouldn't ever spend money on a crossfire setup, even if they offered 12 games.

Neither would I and that goes for SLI as well.
