I'm planning on building a new system this year. And since I always buy the newest stuff AND I'm out of the loop AND I don't have a lot of time to peruse reviews/news, I'd like a helping, "hand."

I'd like to get a six core processor, run at least two GPUs, at least 16GB memory, an SSD and new PSU. I will be water cooling again and I'd like it if the card that I buy has factory installed water cooling, it's not that I'm afraid of the work, I rather like having my warranty intact should something go wrong with the card. Now for the specs of my current machine that I'm going to then use as an HTPC in place of my current HTPC and then use my current HTPC in my TRON MAME cabinet (minus the water cooling...probably):

MOBO: EVGA X58 SLI Classified Hydro Copper
CPU: i7 975ee
Mem: Corsair Dominator 12GB (can't remember what speed as I'm not at home)
GPU: 3xEVGA GeForce GTX 580 FTW Hydro Copper 2
Sound: X-Fi Titanium pro (or somesuch, can't quite remember at current)
HDD: 1xWD Velociraptor 300GB for OS 1xWD Velociraptor 1TB for applications/games
PSU: Man, I can't remember, but it's at least 1200W and 80+Silver rated, but it could be 80+Gold (once again, I'm not at home and this machine was built two and a half years ago)

Okay, now that we all know what I've got, my biggest question is, do y'all think that I could get away with just buying new GPUs (once the 700 series is released, that is) or might I just cause myself a nice little bottleneck? As I said, I've been out of the loop for two years as to what's what and what's currently awesome.

Almost any help is greatly appreciated. Also, I have no brand loyalty, but I do prefer EVGA as their support has always been phenomenal (in my experience) and since EVGA deals with Intel/Nvidia, I've used that for the last three builds that I've done. Also, money is almost no object when it comes to my builds as I usually re-use most of the parts in the next couple of machines.

If my current rig will not bottleneck a new GPU, I'd prefer just to upgrade those (probably not going to tri-sli again as it's really just not worth it). And the reason that I want to upgrade isn't for any specific reason other than to waste my own money and keep up with technology (somewhat).

Thanks for any help!

Do you mean, "sound," as in aural frequencies? Or, do you mean good?

Well, that nvidia Titanium card is expected to be a real monster, so I don't know actually...

If you can afford and want to spend enormous amount of money on CPU, you can consider buying something from Sandy Bridge-E family.

Or just wait for Intel Haswell premier before making further decisions.

It usually takes me about six months to research the newer tech when I'm planning on upgrading so I've got plenty of time to wait and see, I just wanted to try and get a jumpstart on the new tech so I could strike while the iron was hot, so-to-speak. Thanks for the info.
