Any one have any experience with this board. I was looking at gigabyte or asrock.

Finding it hard to find any info!
Will be looking at overclocking the i5.

Well, I have exactly that board with the 3570K and I'm quite satisfied with it. The AIsuite and the UEFI are nice and easy. It seems to overclock well though this is mostly limited by the CPU. I think it's a good quality board. But so are Gigabyte and ASROCK at the same pricerange I suppose. I havent read anything really bad about any of them recently.
Just compare the features you get for the price of the boards. (I like to use geizhals.at for that)
Edit: Also this list helps if you want further information about power phases and such.

I have the Micro version of this board paired with a i3 3220.
It is an outstanding board. I also have a P8Z68-V Pro and Asus by far has the best bios features / interface.
The 'normal' version is actually faster for boot up then the Pro version as there are less option roms that need loading. However, with Z77 you have the important stuff native to the chipset like USB 3.0. Only two SATA III ports, but most don't need more then that anyways.
The board overclocks well; The higher end versions like the Pro and Deluxe are the better buy if doing extreme overclocking though. Better power and larger factory installed heatsinks among other things.

You know you think you'vegot it covered and then find out should have been just V and not V LE
Fucking board revisions and models!! Hopefully I can get a decent oc, the ivys run hotter so I won't be going to high with my corsair H60.

That's why I wanted to go sandy but this came up so I jumped on it. Pros and cons with both chips don't suppose there a wrong choice with either. esp coming from AMD, this is my very first Intel setup.

Ok so i've got this setup now and running. Problem!
When i boot into Asus bios, in the first screen (not advanced) if i click on 'ASUS Optimal' setting the computer reboots and sits in a continual power on off loop never getting to the bios screen.
If i alter the cpu clock just one bit same happens. If i try and use the asus auto tuning from either the bios or application via windows i get the same result. boot fail and power loop.
Intel stress testing passes all tests and is stable.
I have reseated the cpu and memory several times and checked over all my connections.
Tried unpluging the GPU to see if it is a PSU issue but the same result. I do have a modular PSU Enermax 750w it has a seperate lead for the mobo power i'm wondering if my psu could be failing?
Any help much appreciated as i'm a bit of a loss what to try next.
EDIT: forgot to say i have to clear cmos everytime to get back to bios standard settings

Enermax generally makes shit PSU's. I used to buy all sorts of different brands but lately i've just settled on spending the cash on Seasonic supplies and calling it a day.

I don't know the Asus R2Hv but you could try removing all the other resolutions from the "Modes" lines in the "Screen" subsection so that only your preferred resolutions stays.
For example:
